Take the top off the dryer and you should find it located at or near the drum.

SOURCE: Location of Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is located near the heating element. The part number for the replacement kit is LA-1053. You can view an illustrated parts break down of your dryer at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and locate item 5 under the "Heater" section. Pay close attention to the instructions in the thermal fuse replacment kit. One thermostat is for a GAS dryer, one is for an ELECTRIC dryer. Read the instructions and make sure you use the correct one. If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Testimonial: "Excellent info. Thermal fuse was out of sight. Mention about LA-1053 helped. Honestly, I didn't know how thermal fuse looked like."

Maytag performa dryer model pye2300ayw, what should the ohms reading be on the thermal fuse?

doesn't matter,it's either good or bad, when you touch the meter to it if it reads 1 and doen't move it's bad if you get any reading it's good,if the dryer is loaded with lint in the duct that the lint filter slides into and the vent line is blocked it will keep popping on you, clean out the dryer, number one cause for popping the thermal fuse

Where is the thermal fuse located?

In the back of the dryer. Look for the coiled heaters and follow the lead wires back to the fuse.

Pye2300ayw Dryer will not start. I think it is a bad door switch. How can a confirm this?

Change your thermal fuse first. when thermal fuse goes bad either the whole dryer won't run or the heat element won't come on. Check out item # 3344 at www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-pye2300ayw-%3d%3d&z=100 If your thermal fuse is bad there will be no continuity through it.

WILL NOT START. LIGHT ON BUT WILL NOT START

Check the thermal fuse, located on the right side of the heater housing. If bad order LA1053 kit.
Fair warning it's a real patience tester to install correctly
