You need the sheet that came with the remote. If the manufacturer's codes do not work with your ??, then you need a more modern remote. The codes must ALREADY be in the remote to be used. The code is part of the REMOTE. http://www.tvcodes.com/ may have the code for you.
Use the remote's "Code search" feature. It'll run through every code in it's database and when you see the player turn off, you store the code. If non of the codes work, then it's not compatible.
