I have tried codes listed on the guide with the remote, codes suggested by others on forums, additional codes given to me by Xfinity and finally told by Xfinity that they cannot help. What's the deal? Will Xfinity ever have codes for Proscan tv's? If they add them in the future will I be able to do a search for code from my current remote or would I need a new remote?

many of the dish remotes have a "scan" option. This is what the installers use. You'll ned to read the manual. Its a one page explanation.

The code is under Sansui. It's code 135. Don't ask why. But it works and fully functional.

The codes for the 32' Protron are 1004 or 1011. However be aware that this may disable your defaults permanently. When we had the cable installed they changed the codes but on doing so, the TV was useless. On power up the led will go from red to green, then go back to red instead of giving a source option. Customer service is agravating and useless; this is Chinese company that is using the name ProtRon to ride on the better make of Proton. We bought it through ShopNBC, definitely a big mistake since they are of no help either. We have taken the TV to a repair shop; they say its a main board but they are having extreme difficulty getting help from Protron; only delays and excuses. There are more issues riding on all this that has prompted my wife and I to seek a class action.

Apparently I didn't read the directions for code search closely enough (as it does work for my tv). So I will post them here, just to be sure people don't make the same mistake I did.
With the Device on;
1) Press "TV" on the remote control
2) Press and Hold the "Setup" button until the light blinks twice
3) Enter "9" "9" "1" to enter code search mode on the remote
4) Press the the "CH+" slowly until your TV turns off (if you accidently go to far your can press "CH-" to go back a code or two)
5) Press the "Setup" key to lock in the code, the light should blink twice if done correctly
Your device is now programmed, enjoy!

I don't know what size TV you have but just installed Direct TV for parents and none of the codes worked after a LONG time my husband tried the Sears codes and got the last one he tried to work. He used 10056. It is a 47 inch LCD Proscan TV. If that doesn't work, you might want to try all of the Sears codes to see if one will work for you. Good Luck
