I have a CTM HS740 mobility scooter, when I turn the speed control knob the scooter moves, it has also a fault code showing 6 flashes which means the neutral lever is malfunctioning or out of drive, this should not cause the scooter to drive when turning speed control knob. it's got me bewildered a bit..

Yes it can, the controller thinks you have move the throttle lever so it is ready to drive. You need to center the throttle pot.

SOURCE: tire pressure for the The

This scooter may have air free tires not requiring any inflation. This type of tire has foam in the tire and is maintenance free. Look for a air inflation nozzle coming out of the tire. If you don't see one the tire is air free. If you do have a nozzle, then you can add air up to the maximum inflation pressure written on the side of the tire. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: NO DRIVE ON MY PRIDE REVO MOBILITY SCOOTER

You can try to do this with the cover off, just in case it is not seated properly and holding the lever from fully engaging. The actual swithc is a small microswitch down at the brake, and it can get dirt in it and that will stop it from working, or it may even fail, and need to be replaced. So I would:
1) try it woth the shroud off the motor using.
2) look for dirt around the switch.
3) take a paperclip and jump the scooter side of the switch to bypass the microswitch on the scooter, be careful not to short the jumper to the scooter frame.

Let me know how you make out.

SOURCE: scooter won't move

Things to check: Drive/Free wheeling switch, brake release lever (this activates an internal micro-switch that enable power to the drive system, battery box connectors (condition of contacts - corroded, missing, loose. etc.); main control cable (corrosion. lose or missing pins, etc). If all these are OK, could be controller or drive control potentiometers (speed, forward, backward) on the handle-bar (tiller).
Good luck!

Light is blinking a 7 fault code, what does this fault code mean.

According to the owner's manual for this scooter, flash code 7 indicates a speed control lever fault. This is the lever that you push to go forward and reverse. The lever is attached to a throttle potentiometer to control the speed of the scooter. The lever has to be in the middle or neutral position when the scooter is turned on, if not, you will get a 7 flash code. If the throttle potentiometer is damaged you will also get a flash code 7.
You can try to adjust the throttle pot or try manipulating the neutral position and turning the scooter on and off until the computer sees neutral. This is a potential work around and will cause the scooter to creep forward when running with hands off the throttle lever because there is no zero setting. I usually just replace the throttle potentiometer and this solves the problem. I hope this helps.

Light is flashing 6 times

Hi,if the controller is a blue finned model called a Rhino, then the following applies...

6 OONAPU Out Of Neutral At Power Up. The throttle was not in the neutral position
when the scooter was turned on. The scooter does not drive.
• Return the throttle to neutral, turn the power off, and back on again.
• Throttle may need to be adjusted (see section 5.1.6).
• Check throttle wiring.

CTM HS-580 will not go, batteries are fully charged and no fault lights showing

H i, is there a click from the rear of the scooter when you push the lever to go forward or backwards ??

first of all disconnect one battery, now located the controller and follow the leads to the motor and brake , disconnect look at the connectors and refit , using contact cleaner if possible, making sure they are a good fit,,,

couple of points,,

The wiring from the throttle lever to the controller may be damaged so the controller never see's the pot move (resistance change) as it were..

At worse the controller may have failed, i offer a free testing service,, you only pay the return postage..

Hs 360 scooter light flashes 7 times how do i fix the problem

Hi, this is normally because the throttle pot is either not dead centre or related cabling etc to the controller has been damaged. when looking at the throttle lever look at the centre stem, you should see a cross head, now when at rest this should be dead centre to you, if it isn't it means it moved and that's the fault. Now loosing the related holder etc will allow you to centre it again.. Please contact me for more info if required..
