I need to lower the base to its lowest setting but not sure how ?

Remove the mattress. in all for corners you should see metal arms that are attached to the mattress support. these arms will be screwed into brackets on the crib. Unscrew all four screws and re-screw them into the lowest hole available. replace mattress and your done.

I have this Eddie Bauer Musical Rocking Bassinet, but I am not real comfortable with the mattress part. It seems too cushy, like the babies head would sink right into it if our baby was ever put on his or...

for one thing you dont put a new born on its tummy.you just move the head left to right to stop flat heads accuring.if you have other concerns try looking for a materess at a locol store. one thing you could try is wool materes protector it kind of firms the materes up alittle bit.

Mattress Base

There is currently a voluntary recall on this very part. Visit www.storkcraft.com and click on recall. If your crib was manufactured between 2001 and 2008, fill out the form and you can get a free bracket replacement kit. You will need to look at the sticker on the base under the mattress (where the instructions are usually glued). Write down the model number, date of manufacture, etc. and fill out the form. I'm not certain whether the form submission will allow for a UK address, but I would think if it doesn't you could phone customer service and tell them you'd like the free bracket kit being offered because of the recall.

Changing from a crib to a toddler bed

1-Lower drop side to lower position. Then on the opposite side of the crib, remove stationary side. To remove stationary side, press the small tab on the end hardware(brown plastic piece that connects the rail to the frame) and then pull rail up.
2-Before reinstalling the conversion safety rail(csr), remove the mattress support bolt that is on the side the the csr opening will be(the foot of the bed). A new bolt will be used to reattach the mattress support in the next step.
3-Slide csr hardware onto the hardware on the crib ends. Insert two 1/4-20x2" bolts into each end. One bolt will replace the mattress support removed in step 2. Be sure to put the bolt back through the mattress support bracket before screwing into the end.

I have the instruction page with pictures if you would like a copy emailed.
