It is possible for the Windows operating system on your eMachines computer to have a critical failure. If the operating system on your eMachines computer is failing, you can use your recovery discs to restore your computer. Recovery discs come with your purchase of an eMachine, and contain your operating system and all your basic drivers. You can recover your eMachines W series in about an hour.

Turn off your computer and press "F8" to enter the BIOS menu. Tab over to the "Boot Sequence" or "Boot Order" menu. Move your optical drive to the top of the list. Press "F11" to exit and save changes. Insert your recovery disc into your optical drive, then restart your computer. Press any key to boot from disc. Select the "Full Recovery" option from your recovery disc menu. Allow the recovery procedure to complete. Hope this helps.

How do I restore bios?

If all you have done is change the CMOS battery then the BIOS should be fine but it will have been reset to default settings which may have changed the Boot device and / or boot sequence.

Go in to the BIOS setup when you power on the computer and check that you have your main hard disk drive set as the main boot device.

How to restore my pc emachine e727 to factory setting without using a cd.

This works with most computer that come with a "restore" partiton, and haven't been erased.

when you turn on your computer look for the bios screen(press this for setup, this for boot) imeadiatly look for text that say "restore" and a key to press, then press it, you might need to do it a few times, it's usually a second or 2 before windows boots.

I have the restore dvd for emachines t2984 and neither the cd drive nor dvd drive will read the disk... is there a keyboard shortcut to restore it?

try booting into your bios for most commercial desktops your short cut key would be f8 if not try hitting delete on start up in all case you should be able to get into your bios when your in the bios make sure the cd is the first boot device not your hard drive. also key note make sure every thing in that list is off just make your cd rom the only thing to boot.

I insert restore disk and nothing happens

Hi there.
If you don't have the option of hitting F12 to change the boot order to the CD/DVD just as the computer starts up then you will have to enter the bios to change the boot order.
Restart the machine and hit either Del or Esc to enter the bios, look for the boot order and set the CD/DVD as first boot device, hit F10 and exit the bios, the computer will restart and you should now be able to boot from the CD/DVD.
Please post back with the results and if you need anymore help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

How do I reset bios on emachine d3415

When you say reset...do you mean that you want to restore the bios back to their original factory settings?
That can usually be done from the bios (reboot, press either F2 or F10...the screen that displays upon boot will let you know what to press) ...there should be an option to re-set the bios back to the factory settings.....
But if that is not wat you are trying to do, let me know.

Restoring

go into the Bios and set it to boot from disk, restart and it will walk u through, as long as it's xp or vista. Once it loads it will give you the option to repair, and at that point it will ask for the restore disks
