Green flashing light on front of tv but tv won't turn on
We were watching our TV and suddenly the picture went out. We still have sound. This is true with any device hooked to the TV as well....sound but no picture.
This is either a power problem or the screen needs re-gasing
A very simple solution when your Sharp LC-40LE540E (and probably similar ones) does not turn on after a power interruption. Mine just showed a blue power on LED on its front panel for a minute, and then it turned off. The screen remained black. Disconnection of power mains for 10 minutes or more did not help.
The solution:
1. Download latest TV's firmware from sharp.eu site for your TV.
2. Unzip the file and put the xxxxxx.zimage file into root directory of a USB stick.
3. Disconnect TV's power mains from power outlet.
4. Insert the USB stick into USB port of your TV.
5. Connect TV mains to the outlet.
6. Wait until power LED on TV's panel starts and stops blinking red-blue (about 2-3 minutes).
7. When SHARP logo appears on the screen followed by a window asking you to YES-NO update the firmware, select your option with its remote. You may upgrade firmware, if before it was not the latest, or just select NO - if you don't want to, and after that your TV switches on in its regular way.
That's it!
Enjoy!
Power light blinks 2 times and the opc light blinks 5 times

This tends to be the result of an electrolytic capacitor somewhere, either on the main board or the power supply board bursting due to overheating. In this case you can pull off the back paneling and review the boards over to make sure all the capacitors are in excellent condition. After identifying a bad capacitor you can buy one from an electronics store in the area or a reputable online source. To replace it this will require soldering. Look for a capacitor with the same uF, the voltage can be the same or higher. Make sure all the power is out of the system before servicing, also make sure to note capacitor polarity observing the negative indicator line on the side. If your not sure this can be done at home I would recommend taking it in to a servicing shop. If you do not know what a capacitor looks like do a google image seatch for both examples of a good and bad copacitor. I honestly hope it's something much simpler, I hope this helped and good luck.

if the tv is still under the manufactuer warranty i would definitly give them a call. If it is a Sharp tv I would call the 1-87-BESHARP. I would also try unplugging the tv for at least 2-3 minutes and seeing if the tv will reset itself. Usually what happens with these tv's when the light blinks it locks the tv as a security issue. If the unplug does not help it will more than likely need service to get this fixed for you. The call line hours are M-F 7am-7pm S-S 9-5 and they will be glad to help you from there.

We just receieved our new Sharp Aquos LC-37D44U and it comes on for only a moment before fading out. The green light continues flashing after the screen has lost power.
Our 32 Sharp Aquos Model #LC-G5C32U turns off by its self and won't come back on for hours or days. We have tried covering it when its cold and not being used and nothing seems to work. There is no rhyme or reasons as to why it turns off.
Brand new Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U and the problem is the same. Flashing green light nothing else.
