Is the wifi enabled, can you see any wifi networks? If not, make sure wifi is enabled, if there is button on laptop to disable/enable wifi connections, swich wifi on.
Check from control panel -> network (network and sharing center in Vista/Win7) -> change adapter settings. If wireless lan adapter disabled (grayed out).
Hi Chris, Pls check in wireless settings>> security settings. Whether any MAC authentication is enable with the AP (Access Point). If yes, kindly add the MAC address of your device which you want to connect to the AP.
My MC55 will not respond to a cold or warm boot. I have fully charged the battery. The screen will not respond when I tap it. The screen is white withe the Motorola logo and MC55 Series. Is there anyway to get this back to working again with out sending it to a tech person?
Can you help me?
Hi,
try to do the below troubleshooting :
1) Boot up your netbook.
2) Login to windows. wait until windows finish loading.
3) Make suer your WiFi is enable. Search for the button of keyboard shortcut like 'fn' + 'f2' (wifi symbol).
4) Search for wifi network nearby.
5) connect to one of them.
6) Usually, public enable wifi is using a DHCP setup. Go to you wifi adapter setup page and make sure it's already on DHCP mode.
7) You should be able to connect to the wifi network (public DHCP enable) by now.
8) If you still can't connect to the wifi, means its not a public DHCP enable network or you got a wifi adapter problem.
Good luck ;)
unfortunatley if your device is preconfigured for 1d only you will not beable to scan or decode 2d barcodes. Which configuration of the mc55 do you currently have? if you can provide me with this information i can let you know if it is possible or not.
Reset your router to factory default settings for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults. Then configure your router with below method then all messup will be fixed. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on WAn settings and set wan settings as internet service provider settings. Then click on wireless settings then enable wifi also enter SSID name and enable broad cast turn on wifi . If you want to secure wifi then enable WEP in wireless security .Enter code it is your password to connect wifi. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
I would not open up one of these animals if I could avoid it! Go to the bios, "Disable" the Wi-Fi. Re-boot and ensure NO Wi-fi AT ALL in "Device Manger". If you have the software for the Wi-fi (May be on the System disk that came with the machine) go to "Remove Programs" and take out any software for this device. Shut down completely. Leave for a couple of mins. Re-start and go into bios. Re-enable Wi-Fi and re-boot. re-install software IF requested. Good Luck! Ian.
Warm boot the MC55 if that doesn't help then cold boot it, if that doesn't help then reload the Operating system, if that doesn't fix it then send it back to Motorola for a warranty repair.
