If you have contacted the ISP for verification, inside and out. Checked/replaced and reseated ALL connections, cables, splitters, etc. It sound like a ISP or cable issue, but I have been wrong before. Any Brand name Access point, Linksys, Netgear, D-Link , the list is long. Depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. What you are connecting to the Device.

First , Check/swap ALL cables, If you are sure it not inside. Contact your ISP and have a tech come out to analyze the signal, it may be outside. I had a similar issue I traced the cable all through the house to the cable entrance, the tech found a underground box that had been run over by a large lawn mower breaking the box allowing water to enter.

Trying to scan document and it says "cannot retreive application list"

Were you able to scan successfully before? If yes, it could be a slight communication problem. This can easily be fixed by disconnecting your printer from your computer (if usb connected). Unplug and replug your printer into the power outlet to reset it. Reboot your computer. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. Try to scan again.

I have a GE home security system. Last week there was a power surge due to a blown transformer in the neighborhood. A few hours afterward the systems siren sounded & would not turn off. So we...

It might not hurt to try the "Microsoft Solution" and reboot the system. First disconnect the AC power then disconnect the battery. Wait 1 minute then reconnect the battery and reconnect the AC power.See ifyou can arm and disarm the system. Then reconnect the siren and try again to arm and disarm the panel. If the keypads beep it can usually give you an error code that will help you pinpoint the problem.

After a power failure, the internet light in my router is red. I tried all the usual, switching on and off, resetting, disconnecting from phone and power line for several hours. Nothing makes the internet...

a red led usually indicates an error or defect. if removing the power for several minutes (or hours like you did) does not reset the error, then i'm afraid that you will have to replace the device completely. however, the root cause may still be found before the router. have you tried unplugging and replugging the modem as well?

Keeps disconnecting and wil not get better than a "lo" reading on

Try hard resetting and reconfiguring it , try playing with the channel too. If still does not work try flushing the firmware.

Electric wheel chair

Sounds like a loose wiring connection. Remove the seat and the shroud to expose the inside of the chair, and beggining at the batteries, wiggle to make sure that they are secure at the terminals. then unplug and replug the disconnects as you trace back to the controller. At the controller, unplug and replug all of the connections there. Follow the leads going out to the motors and make sure those connections are good and tight, and all connections are clean. Unplug the joystick and replug it in and see if it works. These are phantoms and hard to find. Good luck.

GE cordless phones

If the cordless phones are old 2.4GhZ phones, and you have wireless internet (which is probably also 2.4GhZ), the wi-fi could be messing with the phone signal/channel. Some cordless phones have a switch that allows you to switch channels. If so on your phone, try that.

This was happening to me, along with my internet connection dropping off every time the phone rang. So I went out and got a set of Dect 6.0 cordless phones, and the problem went away.

Good luck.
