Upright freeze made a popping noise like a thermostat

Our sears upright freezer use to make a popping sound like a thermostat
switch tripping. Now the food is thawing out in the upper part of
the freezer and I don't hear the popping thermostat noise any more.
Any thoughts.

Mike

If you heard the noise at a fairly routine rate and time it was probably the defrost timer motor. Locate it and you should be able to engage it manually. It is a plug and go part to replace. Be sure to take the old one along with the make n model # with you to the parts house!!

Loud clanging noise from Kenmore upright freezer

Check the condenser fan (outside at the rear) and check the coil isn't baking hot. Electronics or board wouldn't cause your symptoms. Check the simple things first!

Freezer not freezing

If you can hear the motor running it could be the thermostat that has gone or if there is no noise at all it could be the motor that has died, a good easy fix ( sometimes works ) is to turn the freezer off leave it for 24 hours with no power then try turning it on again.

Just got this freezer and it has been pluged in since 2pm yesterday. It is still at 50 degrees. How long does it take for a freezer to start freezing ?

Within 2 to 4 hours after initial power on.

Call Sears and tell them you want it exchanged not repaired, that is if it is new and under warranty.
Make sure the thermostat is set at about the mid setting of the adjustment range!
Good Luck !

Freezer stopped working.

It might be the compressor making the noise. If it is,the compressor will start/stop frequently. This means that it is tripping on overload due to mechanical damage.Only way to solve this prolem is to replace the compressor (if the freezer is still in a good condition).

Problem with upright freezer not freezing

It sounds like the unit is low on freon or the compressor is going bad. You have several other components that could be affecting this as well. Make sure the coils are free from dust and clean underneath. This is a bit premature for you to have problems now, especially since it is a Sears product.

The buzzer is loud

Frigidaire # LFFH2067DoW2 # WB52430831 upright freezer (frost free commercial)

Freezer is still freezing. The alarm sounded and I switched the switch off to turn off. The manual says that the temperature isn't at the right temperature and once it reaches the correct freezing temperature the light will come back on or the sound would go off after at least 4 hours. This was since last night about 6:00 and if i switch the switch the alarm is still sounding. The left side of the freezer is a little warmer than usual. Any suggestions

Whirlpool upright freezer AFG823NF-Thermostat not working properly

JennyT just trying to help with this. I assume this is a self defrost model. If so then is there an ice build up on the back wall? If so then the unit isn't defrosting. That is why pushing the Fast Freeze button is no longer working. You can get by however. Remove all the food from the freezer, put a vacumn in the freezer and shut the door. Turn on the vacumn, this will pull the warm air thru the freezer and in 30 minutes to an hour it will be defrosted enough to work until you can get someone to replace the 1 of 3 parts that the defrost system uses. The vacumn is what I use to defrost my nonself defrosting freezer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
