Jacuzzi 470 Model has '- - - - ' problem code on display.

I changed the water and cleaned the filter on my 470 model. Turned the service breaker back on and the display reads '- - - -'. Turning the breaker on and off does not help. Is there anyway to further diagnois what is causing this? Never had a problem with the spa before this. Could an air gap by the heating element cause this?

Can I use a jumper wire on the sensor plug to see if it is the problem? Also where is it located? I cannot tell if the circulation pump is flowing a good amount as nothing will turn onwith the '---' error code. However, everthing worked fine before II I

Unfortunately, there is not a "basic" jumper you can use. There is a "Special" Jumper made specifically for the Sensor Plug, used by factory authorized technicians. Two of the sensors can't be jumped regularly! they are "Resistance/Ohm Driven". The Location is on the circuit board, on top, just to the left of center. Small Plug that snaps into place onto the board. About 1/4" thick x 1" wide. 3 sensors (6 wires) come into it. and a crossing jumper wire on the left side.

OK Thanks! Also, I had drained the spa using a sump pump (to remove some dirt at bottom). Could that have caused the air lock on the circ. pump? Subsequently, drained some water using the spa's outlet drain but it did not help remove the error code.

Don't worry that you did something or something wrong. Unfortunately, some spas are just prone to getting an air lock. One thing that you can do to assist in alleviating an air lock is to add water at refill, thru the filter bucket.

I was asked to change the Circuit Board. It works fine. It costed me $750 for the Board. I understand that Jacuzzi have had this issue with very many boards and have changed the vendors. I am not sure why they will not replace if it is manufacturing problem. I am going to report it to BBB

This is called a watchdog. A number of situations can cause this situation. Check your "Sensor Plug", ensure good tight connection. Air locks not necessarily the problem, but if in the "Circulation" pump, it may. Your Circ pump may have unfortunately failed. Can you tell if it is actually pumping a good amount of water through its return fitting? If not, then either an air lock or it failed.

SOURCE: Panel reads "water sensor opened"

I had the same problem. The water sensor is on a pipe running into your pump. It will have a circular clamp around it. Remove the clamp and pull the sensor out of the pipe. The wires should run into your control box. disconnect the wires and replace. My water sensor was part 7790. Not sure if you have the same one. Do an online search. bestbuypoolsupply.com has them for $50 plus 9 for shippng. Hope this helps.

Without doing more troubleshooting i would have to say that it is the main board (the board with the knobs on it) Take it out and see if there is any corrosion on it.

SOURCE: water temperature thermostat misread

You most likely have a bad water temperature sensor. Replace the water temperature sensor that is probably near the discharge side of the filter pump. That should take care of the problem.

SOURCE: I have a Jandy Lite

This sounds very much like spider webs in the gas orfaces. If you shut the power off and remove the wires to the gas valve then shut the gas down and remove the fed pipe from the gas valve you should be able to pull the burner tray out of the heater. Now if you remove the burners you should be able to remove the brass orfaces connected to the main gas feed pipe. If you use an air hose or a can of compressed air you can blow this out now. Now take the orfaces you removed and clean them with a tooth pick or a small piece of wire. The webs will look like small cotton balls or lint. They don't stop the gas they just slow it or disperse it and keep it from firing clean and evenly.
At this point you can reassemble the tray and install. This should fix your problem.

My unit is a paloma tankless model # PTG-74PVP its throwing error code C4 15 what does this mean? We believe its a flow problem because we hooked up an external pump, it starts out with full flow then...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(common problem so I've pre-typed- just read 'cold'!)
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

No service manual

water filters in the hose attachment at the machine cloggs up. Sometimes fast. take off hose and clean the filters.
This is from whirlpool:
FH No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.
Or
If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

Potential Causes

• If there is no water in the unit:
- Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
- Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
- Verify inlet valve operation
• If there is water in the unit:
- Verify Drain pump operation
- Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch

• Verify there is not a siphon problem
• Verify wire harness connections to; Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump, Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check all hoses for possible leaks
• Verify pressure switch operation
• Verify flow meter operation
• Verify CCU operation

Replace failed component.
