Hi i just bout this aspire 3002lci but after i installed windows xp sp2 i tried to play some music but no sound was coming from the speakers so i cheked and realized i needed to download some drivers for the audio so i did, its called realtekc ac97 now the audio settings shows that my default playback device is realttek but still no sound is coming outta it? what can i do? i downloaded realtek hd ac97 but it says it does not pass windows compatibility and im pretty sure the file im downloading says it is for windows xp, can someone help me? is it a possibility that my sound card is screwed? or the pci isnt configured correctly??
Dont pay any attention to the windowes incompatability messages, just load the downloaded drivers,,if you need to,,un-install the old ones,,then go into advanced setting for your sound,,and map your device to the correct player,,ie, sound blaster,,Ac97 etc
Sometimes it is better to just start all over again and re-install your windows, and then your drivers.
The one tool i really like to use is: Driver magician, it will look for all the drivers your machine needs and then it will download and install them for you.
It's not a hundred percent, but it sure saves me time and effort.
