52 tdci mondeo, keyfob needs programming

Sound like the chip is still in the old key fob put your old key back to the way it was then turn the ignition on and see if that works

The dealer will ned to use the diagnostic scanner to program just one fob. If you you have two good ones then you can do a third or fourth.

Try a new battery in the KEY

May be keyfob needs reprogramming.

Keyfob remote reprogramming is not very difficult but on some cases it can be done by dealer service tools.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Jaguar X-Type Programming (Pairing) a Remote KeyFob X-Type 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0L



Programming or pairing a new remote Keyfob for the X Type is a very simple job that will cost a substantial amount if it is done by Jaguar. It's annoying but this may need to be done if your Keyfob battery has been allowed to go flat, or the car battery has been removed for any length of time.
Follow these steps exactly and you should have no problems, pairing old or replacement Keyfobs for your car.

Your key FOB is easily programmed by yourself without the need of computer, here is how: Push and hold the trip computer button on the left stalk, while holding the button turn the ignition ON and OFF several times untill you hear a confirmation tone from the glovebox area, when the tone is heard, release the button and remove the key from the ignition, immediately after push any button on the Key FOB and you'll hear another tone that confirms the programming.
