in motorola v3 razr ringtones get downloaded in the phone memory and doesnot go to the card memory . so you need to switch the memory to the phone memory and then you will be able to see that ringtone. once you move that ringtone to the card memory and then you can assign the ringtone also .
If you want ot assign the ringtone to some particular contact then it should be in the phone memory then only it wil pick up that not from the card .
I just had this problem with a brand new memory card. After taking it out and reinserting it the card works fine. It could be that your card is just not fully inserted.
