Yes...within a range. The display will automatically lighten and darken depending on the amount of light in the room. During the day or when there are bright lights in the room, the display will go to full brightness. When the lights go off or the room is otherwise darkened, the display will shift down to a lower brightness. You can make the "lower brightness" a bit brighter by holding down the CLOCK SET button and pressing the 'volume up' button.
I have had a few Brewstations and you are right the blue display light is way to bright but no you can NOT tone it down. I placed a postit over mine and it worked great
If the display is the 'cold discharge' type (usually a greenish blue and sometimes an orange colour), it might be cheaper to replace the microwave, since the control circuit (which includes the display and associated circuitry) usually costs more than a new microwave.
If the unit is a brand name product, then approach the manufacturer for a price indication of the relevant spares, and have the full model number on hand when doing so.
do you hear the click of the dimmer switch when you move the lever if you do then the steel rod that goes from the lever to the switch itself is working and the switch is moving from the low beam to high beam circuit.if the blue dash indicator is on them power is coming out of the switch to the dash to operate the light.its possible that the dimmer switch may need to be adjusted a little if you don`t hear the click but moves enough to put the dash light on but not enough to turn the high beams on,that is possibly why the low lights stay on.or you have a bad dimmer switch itself
You don't say what device this is on, HOWEVER most thngs have a "contrast" control that will adjust the visibility.
Sometimes they call this a viewing angle control and sometimes it is a small shaft from the back of a unit, OTHER times it is a setting available through a menu... if you can read the display enough to find it...
Sometimes the brightness is on the arrow keys hit the Fn or function key and press down on the arrow to dim the light or press up on the arrow key to increase brightness
There has to be a menu for picture settings affecting contrast and brightness. Just be patient and you will find them.. Or go to sharp web page for manual download.
