How can i install windows xp sp3 in compaq presario cq60-104tu.

A) Installing same version of Windows, or a lesser version;

Enter BIOS Setup, and in Boot Options, set the first boot device to CDROM.

{Windows doesn't like being copied over by the same version, or a lesser version.
The above will make the computer boot up from the Windows XP sp3 disk you have}

B) If your computer came with a version of Win Vista, and you are trying to install WinXP over it, reply in a Comment.

Format your HDD in NTFS.

this blue dump screen may be due to many reasons.
the first that we can try is that try the windos installaiton using some another installaiton cd with some upper version. eg if you are trying to install windows XP SP2 then try to install XP SP3 . I am sure it will resolve your problem. Max time this problem is due to the hardware incompatibilty with Operating system. So i recommend you to try some another installaiton cd with upper or diff. version. \ If the problem still continue then its some hardware issue.

Deinstall SP3. Nothing works with it.
If you can't deinstall it, you'll have to reinstall Windows, I'm sorry.

i have succeful install windows xp into compaq presario cq40 with this windows xp disk .It diffrent compare to other windows xp.it support compaq presario cq40.100% working for all compaq presario cq40.

your in windows xp and youre try to install sp3 from a disk i take it.
either the disk is corrupt,missing files or wrong version .causing blue screen.(fatal exception)
you could try leaving the disk in and reboot ...
when in windows select run D: or what ever letter is assigned to cd drive .( start , run , type in d: and enter)
this will show files on cd/dvd. drag and drop the .exe program into a file or on desktop and try to run.if it runs the cd/dvd is the prob (corrupt,virus,missing files.) if it does run its the software incompatable or faulty(incomplete files or wrong version)
either way the cd will be useless.
you can download sp3 (free)as long as you are using a registered os.

when i boot the cd the exatrating process work properly and after extraction of all file when windows is startup a blue screen appears and
and message displayed in the screen check ur hard disk for vireuses
and installation stop

Try downloading below driver for your sound.

and be sure, if you hear windows sound which rebooting windows then you have no problem with Audio driver.
if you don't then you have problem with sound driver.
