How to install toe stop for dw 5000 pedal?

As a 40 year guitarist and repair technician I had to laugh at this until I thought about my younger days of starting out. What I see here is that you made a momentary trigger out of a stomp box that apparently had problems, that you think you can build an electronic bass drum to play it with. Is this correct? See, the amp only gives a bass drum sound ONLY if a bass drum sound goes through it. Amps only provide audio power to the input signal. Where to get you bass drum sound is what you need to find. I believe you are thinking of a sample. A sample is an actual recorded sound of a bass drum that you could actually trigger by stepping on that button. You could find this on most cheaper casio, yamaha, emerson, radioshack, keyboards or drumpads or any of those amateur toys. Most of them allow a trigger pedal to be plugged into it and operational. Now, after you find something with a bass drum sample that you can trigger with your pedal, that device should allow you to plug it into an amp to amplify it. I hope I didn't confuse you much and had a close perspective of what you tried to describe. Please let me know if I can help further.

Does it hit the drumhead?
I guess you need to read the instruction manual, because double pedals usually have special way of attaching and tightening mechanism because it's larger.

There's a tiny switch on the back of the module "kick type" try switching that

The "spikes" are the legs near the backside of the drum that keep it from rotating... Some actually have spikes that go into sockets and dig into the floor under the drum. The photo shows the legs. The drum pedal may have spikes and or a clip/clamp that grabs the nearside of the bass rim to keep the pedal from pushing the drum away.

The pedals are domes with Piezo disc sensors. SImple two wire connection... the original pedals are really NOT very good... You might try to find regular pedals used for drum sets... they have a beater and sensor. They do cost a bunch.

Go to YouTube and search for "Bass pedal" There are many videos. Select and view ones on "setup" and also view "technique". These will solve the problems you are having.

There are MANY adjustments and some may have slipped. The clamp of the beater to the shaft would be the most suspect. At each of the universals there is the possibility for loose setscrews. Also see if the chain on the slave could have SLIPPED one cog !!!

There is a piezo sensor behind the pad typically. This can be dislodged or damaged. FIRST check your cables and try plugging the bass into another inout and see if it will trigger that sound. If not, you will need to repair the bass pedal.

SOME pedals have a sensitivity control which is a tiny pot accessable through a hole... this too is easily damaged if wrong type screwdriver is used to adjust it.

be sure and check for a broken cable, especially near the ends.

First thing to check is if the vibrations of the bass drum amplified MIGHT be triggering the cymbal pickup. Damp the cymbal pad with your hand and see if it still does it. If not, then shield the drumset from the amplified output.

If this does not prevent the problem look for a grounding problem of the triggers.

MOST of these use a piezo disc pickup.

Other than replacement, first try to open the case and see if the disc has been knocked loose.

DO verify that the other one with the set will trigger the bass when plugged into the bass input... they are compatible triggering wise.

Frankly, these "pedals" are really hokey... could prpbably use one from a fancier drum set with a true pedal.
