Right here's an idea or three...
1. Uninstall all drivers / software pertaining to Nvidia. Operating system dependant, go to http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/NVidia.html or http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_7900.html and search for instance nvidia Quadro Fx4500 driver windows 7 the top three matches should help. Once you find what matches your device best download and install the "new" driver provided the graphics card is plugged in etc etc. run the installation, it should pick up the card and install succesfully. restart system press and hold numpad del button to enter bios dependant on PC model get into bios settings, look around and find where you can set your primary graphics input and set that option that it points to PCIE (the slot the card is in) and not internal. save and exit bios settings completely. provided the screen is plugged in and secure on the graphics card, you should have picture.

2. On the graphics card should be a sticker with model and serial google that serial number and info as it is and follow steps mentioned in point 1.

3. Check power is plugged correctly onto graphics card from power supply. also with S.L.I

4. Possibly the power source in the machine isn't sufficient and should be upgraded at least 500W and up but make sure so as to not cook your machine.

5. The screen (output device) or cable connectors are damaged damaged, replace it.

6. The graphics card and or capacitors on it are cooked. Buy a new one

I find a little programme called GPUz to also be useful adressing some issues.

Hope this helps... Good Luck

Iam trying to find the value of a capacitor which is damaged on the GPU board for the following product. Nvidia 9800GT 1GB graphics card. The component is situated at the top right hand side of the GPU...

1) Whatever company that made that Nvidia 9800GT graphics card, isn't going to produce a schematic for the general public.
(EVGA, VisionTek, Galaxy, Sparkle, BFG, etc.)

They paid big bucks to Nvidia for the GPU, the schematics, and all licensing fees.

2) If you indicate that you believe most of the capacitors, (Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors), are of the same values, capacitance, and voltage, then remove another one of them, and test the capacitance.

Multimeter set to OHM's. An economical unit can be purchased for around $5 to $12.
Most auto parts stores carry them, as well as a multitude of other stores.

3) The Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors you are looking at, have the values printed on them. They are just in the capacitor manufacturer's code.

Page 2 of the article starts with the identification of the markings.

2nd monitor doesnt work either

Ensure your are running the monitors in dual mode still. Open your Nvidia Control Panel and click on "setup up multiple displays" Then on right panel you should see where to select your option on how to run the 2nd one. You might need a driver update from Nvidia, especially if you recently took an update from Microsoft.

Hope this helps

Repairing a graphic card

Those "battery looking things" are called capacitors. You could replace them if you know how to solder but it is likely that some other problem on the card caused them to fail.

Replacement is your best option. You could contact the manufacturer of your card (Nvidia has a list here) and ask about repair or replacement if the card is under warranty.

My monitor no longer shows anything due to my nvidia driver malfunctioning or something. How do i fix this with no monitor?

You will need to switch out the card for a different one, or if your mobo has onboard graphics, remove the card and run on that.
