The TV will not turn off unless I unplug it Will not turn off via remote of by physically pushing the off button on the TV. There is a tiny, constantly blinking, red light in the small oval at the bottom left of the tv. The "Not Available" rectangular warning box is on the screen. The TV will not respond to any remote commands.
Hello, The real problem is on your TV 'scircuit. Due to high electric power supply there might be a short circuit damage. It's better you call up your service technician and ask him to offer you a onsite support.

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

Sounds like a failed or at least failing power supply / power board inside the TV.
Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an
electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You will need to
contact a local TV repair person in your area. I am quite certain that is what it is, that is exactly what the blinking power light indicates. It is getting enough power through the power supply to light that little indicator light, but it can't power up the TV itself.
This is the most common problem with all LCD tv's unfortunately, and for whatever reason it is very common in Samsung models :(.
So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally.
Thanks
Tim

No, this isn't a cap problem: the command circuit of the power source is faulty - it automatically activates part of the power source and the Y-sus board - causing the white light. Because only half of the screen is lit and the status light flickers when you try to start the tv it means that there is a massive short in the Y-sus board, and this is the origin of all you problems. This and the power boards will surely have to be replaced and the controller inspected for damage and probably replaced also.
All of this might have been caused by the fact that the tv has been kept on its side for a long time: this position has put the glass panels (very thin and fragile) under a lot of stress so they either got deformed and broke the seal between them allowing the gases to escape - in that case the tv is dead, junk it - or the deformed panels have increased the gap between them which has raised the voltage of the discharge over what the chips on the Y-sus board can handle and they failed. In that case you will need to check the dimensions of the panel and its planarity very carefully wit the tv in the normal position - if it;s not perfect the the deformation is permanent and the tv dead.
