hi! try this solution for your problem.tnx

Follow these steps to correct the problem:

  1. Open the HP Director/Solution Center software.
  2. Click Settings , click Scan Settings and Preferences , and then click Scan To....Setup . The Button Settings window will appear.
  3. The Destination List tab should be visible. The software will scan the computer and determine what scan capable programs are installed on the computer. These will be listed on the left side.
  4. Select a program you wish to scan to and then click Add to move it to the right side. Programs listed on the right will be available as scanning destinations when pressing the Scan button.

5. On the Scan To Button tab, you may also specify what type of scan you wish to launch from the front panel and establish a default scan resolution and color depth setting.

6. Click OK to save the changes and exit the setting.

Causes:
>This error message occurs if the Scan To settings have never been set.

Read the last comment on this blog about your printer. At the time that model was manufactured, Windows 7 was not apparantly listed or verified. I think they have updated their drivers, so update your drivers per the blog instructions. Good luck, hope this works for you!

Good Day Nicholas!

My hp officejet pro L7580 is connected to DOT4 port, there's a hp officejet pro L7580fax connected to USB002. I want officejet pro L7580 connected to USB002, NOT the L7580fax. My desktop is not...

To walk you through I'd need to know the OS you are running, but the generic answer is that you need to go into the print driver, and in the Printer Properties, under the ports tab , select the USB002 port rather than the DOT4 port and Apply the changes.

Can't use HP Solution Center anymore to scan documents (I could before upgrading from Vista to 7)

did you go from xp/vista 32 bit to windows 7 32bit or did you install windows 7 64bit.
Most likely you will need updated drivers from HP, which are available at there webite support area. www.hp.com - click support - insert your model number - select your operating system - download

If you do need software, you may also need to uninstall any previously installed printer software before you install the new downloaded software.
This can be done in the add/remove programs section of the controll panel.
