My microphone is muted how can i unmute it

Mute Microphone
With the handset
You can temporarily turn Off the microphone so that the person you are talking with cannot hear you.
1)Press menu/del during talk mode (while phone is in use).
2)Press ring/vol/? or ring/vol/? to move the pointer to Mute and then select/
.
Mute On and appear in the display. To cancel muting, repeat above step again when Mute
is set to on, Mute Off appears.
With the base
While using the base speakerphone, press mute on the base to turn Off the microphone.
Press mute again or press (speaker) to cancel muting.

You may have accidentally pressed the Mute button. Undo as below
Mute a Call:
You can talk to someone nearby without letting the caller hear you during a call. During a call: Press <C> t o mute the microphone and "MUTED" will display on the LCD.
Your caller cannot hear you. Press <C> again to unmute the microphone.

Does it show an icon, usually a crossed-out microphone, informing you that the call is muted? Or people just can't hear you?
You may have a broken microphone in the phone, it happens.

Looks like problem is on your side. This is may due to a faulty microphone on your phone or Mic is set to be on mute.


1. Please check that nothing is clotted on Microphone. This is a small hole on bottom side of your phone.
2. Please check that other party can hear you when you're using a Hands-free / Bluetooth ear phones with mic on it. If they can hear you, when you use a hands-free, problem is with your phone's on-board microphone.
3. You can also check that, while on a call, your mic is not set on Mute. This can be done as on call, select Options , look for Mute / Unmute. If Unmute is present, select it unmute the mic.
4. You can use Mute button Provided on the top side of the phone. While on the call, press this button to Mute / Unmute the mic. If the mic is set to Mute mode, other party won't hear any sound from you.

make sure you have a microphone, if not, you will need one, if you bought a webcam, dont assume it has a microphone built in, not all of them do.. if you do have one, then make sure it isnt muted (double clicking the speaker in the system tray next to your clock, and make sure the mic isnt muted, if it isnt and you still have no sound, the micropgone header on your motherboard may be connected incorectly or not at all, if you are plugging the microphone into the front of the PC, take it our and use the pink plug at the back (one one labelled with a picture of a microphone)

go to Tools => Options => Audio Settings, see Microphone Volume, uncheck Automatically adjust microphone settings, adjust volume manually, test mic if green line showing up. To check if mic is muted, when calling contact in the calling window point on mic if it says Unmute microphone click on it, if it says Mute microphone it's already unmuted.

In open the slide, you can mute the microphone
during a call by pressing the left soft key
[Mute]. The handset can be unmuted by
pressing the left soft key [Unmute]. When the
handset is muted, the caller cannot hear you,
but you can still hear the caller.

Reinstall your sound card drivers.Reboot the PC.Then reinstall Skype.Then setup Skype with the type of mic that you have.

by default the playback of your voice is muted. next to your clock theres the sound speaker icon click on it, you should see microphone somewhere there, if you dont press settings from the toolbar and then properties

then on the playback make sure there is a X on microphone.

then click ok, now check is the microphone muted? unmute it and speak to the microphone you should hear your own voice played back instantly from the speakers.

Make sure you don't have a program that auto mutes your mic. Possibilities are audio mixers, live messenger, etc.
