Mp3 Not Being Recognised and Samsung Media Studio Not Installing

When I went to transfer some music files to my mp3, the computer for some reason didn't recognise my player. It's worked for a few months, but it just stopped working. My mp3 says "Connected" and it charges fine, but I can't put any more music on it. I decided to uninstall samsung media studio and everything which came on the CD, but when I tried to reinstall it, it came up with "Setup.exe has discovered and needs to close" message. Any ideas what I can do next?? Also, something unrelated (i think), but my capacity menu says that there are no music files. Whenever I go into any of the music folders like "Artist", "Album" even the shuffle menus, none of my files are displayed. When I go to "Browse all files" however, my music is there in the folders i gave them e.g. "The Beatles" or "U2". I can't even shuffle them. Anyone know what I can do???? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Cat23

As with any issue with this type of digital device, you should always "RESET" the device first (little micro switch - next to the USB port, or on back)...press with a pin (or similar) for 2-3 sec's. I then suggest you fully 'remove' any Samsung Media software (via add/remove programs under control panel). Re-boot your pc, then connect your Z5 into a know working USB port on pc. See if it installs the Z5's driver correctly (ie starts communicating). If this gets it going, you must now download the newest firmware from Samsung's website (download centre), and then save the files into your Z5 (ie overwrite the old firmware). If this fails, then try Samsung directly for further intructions. Good luck.

Can not download music on MP3 player

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Hi
Try this solution to put the files on the MP3 player

Installing Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to go to the Samsung website and download and install "Samsung Media Studio 5.
After you have Samsung Media Studio 5 intalled and running, then put the music on Media Studio 5 that you want on your MP3 player.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you want, release, right click and then drag and drop the files to your MP3 player
Now you mp3 player should have the files/songs you want.

My Samsung YP-S2 Mp3 player can't be recognised by computers when I plug it in through the usb input (it used to work), therefore I'm not able to upload music on it anymore. How can I fix this bug?

Samsung Player Is No Longer Detected By Windows XP, Vista, Emodio Or
Samsung Media Studio.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When your computer doesn't recognize your Samsung MP3 player, programs
such as Samsung Media Studio (SMS), Emodio, Windows Media Player
(10 or 11) do not allow you to transfer files to your player.
In SMS and Emodio, the portable icon appears grayed out.
In Windows Media Player, you are prompted to connect a device.
Your PC may fail to recognize your player for a variety of reasons.
To begin troubleshooting, scroll down, and then click the operating
system your computer is currently running.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Operating System Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Windows computers, Samsung MP3 players require at least Windows XP
Service Pack 2. If you have an older operating system such as Windows
2000 or Windows 98, your computer won't recognize your player until you
upgrade your PC to at least Windows XP Service Pack 2.
If your PC is running Linux or MAC, it will not recognize some MP3
players that support only MTP mode. However, it will recognize players
that support UMS mode and list them as mass storage devices.
The following Samsung MP3 players support UMS: YP-U1, YP-U2, YP-U3,
YP-U4, YP-U5, and YP-S2.
The following Samsung MP3 players support both MTP and UMS mode: YP-Z5
and YP-P3.
Windows Vista may fail to detect you device if the player is not
connected properly, Windows Media Player is not installed or has become
corrupted, Vista is unable to install the MTP drivers, or the MTP patch
is not installed.
You can check it out further by going to this website and entering the information about your player

Samsung yp s3 doesnt work on xp

I have Windows XP and Media Player 10.

I had same problem with Samsung media studio not recognizing MP3 player. Here is how I fixed it. With the MP3 plugged in, I had to go into System/ Hardware/Device Manager and find the S3 driver under "Windows portable Media" and uninstall it. Then unplug and replug the S3 into the usb so that driver gets reinstalled.

Then I decided windows media player and samsung media studio are unnecessary for transferring music files to MP3 player.

Instead I go into Portable Media Devices from the control panel and just treat the MP3 player like a usb device. I copy folders of music and songs into the Music folder on the MP3. For me this is way easier than the Samsung music studio or Windows Media player.
