But have what seems to be hot water on the warm water wash/cold rinse setting

  • Anonymous Jan 24, 2009

I found the answer to my problem. The cold water pipe frooze. I warmed it up with the low setting on my heat gun aimmed at the elbow of the pipe just below basement ceiling level! I did this for four or five minutes every is back to normal. I also put insulation between the pipe and outside wall but open to the warm basement air.

Tip1. Make sure your cold water turnoff is turned on all the way off before you check water screen. It could be clogged with sediment located inside threaded cold water hose connection. If clogged scrape clean or replace screen.Reconnect cold water hose and turn cold water supply all the way on. Tip2. Electric water solenoid could be defective or simply have a loose wire on the plug of the solenoid or loose plug / wire on mode switch.

EW1200 is rinsing in hot water how do we change that

Hot wash, hot rinse is for 'whites'. Cold wash, cold rinse is for 'colors'. Warm wash, cold or warm rinse is for 'permanent press'. Check your settings to see if you have these options. Double check the hoses, put the machine on cold fill and feel the hoses.
Has someone worked on the machine and possibly put the wires on the solenoids wrong? Easy mistake to make.

Cold fill washing machines

If your washer is the type that all rinses are in cold water only this would make sense that in the winter months when the water is at it's coldest the clothes will feel cold after the spin cycle.
If your washer has a warm rinse cycle and when you select the warm rinse option the clothes feel cold after the spin, then maybe the hot water supply line is plugged.I recommend disconnecting the hot water hose at the back of the washer and check the screen that is at the fill valve on the washer and make sure it isn't clogged with sediment or calcium build up or any other foreign material that would keep the hot water from entering the washer. If all is well there, suspect either the water temp selector switch or the hot water fill valve. Good luck !

No water enters on rinse cycle

I was partially wrong on my diagnosis. No cold water enters on either the wash or the rinse cycles. I also heard odd noises from the inlet valves. I realized the cold water valve was not opening. I've ordered the mixing valve and plan to replace it as soon as it comes in.

ZANUSSI ZWD162701 washing always comes out cold - WHY?

Washers are meant to rinse in cold water, so clothes should come out cold.
If you are not sure if it is getting hot, then select a very hot wash, and feel the door glass periodically, it should gradually get hotter, if it does not , then it is washing in cold water only.
This could mean that the heater element has gone.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Maytag washer

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.  Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then  hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed.  Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.
