9600 keeps telling me to RELOAD paper

I have a 44 inch wide roll of epson presentation matte paper loaded onto the spool. Each time i load the paper to the designated dot area i hit the pause button, the head slides halfway over and returns instructing me to reload the paper. I keep reloading the paper to no avail. Does anyone know how to correct this.

Yes, that seemed to do it. Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by don't fiddle though.

I have a Epson pro large format 9600, I print on canvas, I have use Photo black since I have it, but never getting a saturation ressult. I have been counsil by Epson to use Matt black rather than Phot

"Photo black" is designed specifically for glossy photo paper. Matte black is for non-glossy paper, including plain paper. Matte black will print darker on non-glossy paper than photo black does.

Loading roll paper for an Epson 7600

Remove paper, blow on the little window to the left of the bottom-right screw inside front cover...there's a sensor in there. I read this somewhere else, and it fixed my loading problems. Good luck!

Paper not feeding for epson nx400

Check the following:

  • • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right side, behind the tab, then press in the tab on the edge guide and slide it against the paper. Make sure the paper is not above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.

  • • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

  • • If the paper doesn't eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the c:\users\home\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Stop button, then open the scanner and remove the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

  • • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

  • • Make sure you use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

  • • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

  • • Make sure you load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

• If the paper jams, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.

2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson Stylus NX400 off and then back on.

If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

I have an Epson R1800 and when I load Roll 13X19 matte media and try to print I either get a "jammed media" message or the printer trys to print without feeding the media.

I had a similar problem trying to print epson pro canvas. I finally learned the "trick". First I generally cut an appropriately sized pice of canvas from the roll. Then I attach a HEADER. This is dome by cutting a piece of 13" wide photo paper in a three inch length (so you have a piece 13" x 3") . Draw a line at 1.5 inches and place some sort of adhesive (I use a double sided tape gun) on one side of the line. Line up the canvas/paper with the line and make sure it sticks to the header.

Now you should be able to manually feed the header/paper into the printer - once the header passes the correcct point the printer will "grab" it a position it correctly for printing.

Hope this helps

Reload Paper constantly shows up

This printer is very finicky about paper loading. I see this error most commonly when using auto-cut roll paper. If the paper edge is not cut perfectly straight, and it is not inserted into the printer perfectly strait, it will give you an error. When it does this, you can simply load the paper and press "cut" instead of "pause" when it says "press pause" and it will cut the paper straight. You can also set it to "Roll Paper Manual Cut" and load the paper, then set it back to "Roll Paper Auto Cut."

Printing Borderless at 42" width?

Set the roll size to 44 inch, set your left margin to 0 (in your preprint software), experiment. With margins set at 0, using Onyx Productionhouse 7.3, the 9800 will print approx 41.8 inch image on 42 inch roll 43.8 on 44, etc. This is considered borderless printing. No matter what size roll you tell the printer it has in it, it will print to about an eighth to a sixteenth of an inch short of the paper's actual edge (that's the left side of the roll paper coming out of the printer - the right side of the print). If you load, for example, a 36 inch roll, tell the printer its a 44 inch roll, and send a 40 inch wide print, with a left margin of 0 it will print around 35.8 inches, cutting off the image just before it would overprint and get ink on the machine (1/8 - 1/16inch before the edge of your 36 inch stock). It is possible that these tollerances will be different depending on what software you send your images with... hope this helps!

Paper out indicator

I do know what's going either, but to get around this I have to keep paper in the loaded position. So turn the printer off, put a letter size sheet of paper in (as though getting ready to print), turn printer on again, and now the printer gives the "press pause" msg, press it, the paper will load up, and then the printer reads again, "Ready".

The printer just seems to want paper in it or else it won't read "Ready".
