Parts should still be under warranty. Call the manufacture at 800-432-8373.. Have your model & serial number. A tech agent should be able to assist you.

I Have a question related to the same heater. What is the resistance of the vapor sensor when it samples bad vapors and what is it when it is in the OK condition? Thanks.

What does ECO failure mean on my hot water heater?

I'm guessing about model. I Goggled Eco failure. For reheme this site and discussion may help. http://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/ge-rheem-power-vent-eco-failure-code-gg50s06rvj.43646/
but since it's gas, and an expensive unit I'd call the installer or his service.

2 yr old ecco sense UMC 117 unit flashes 38 beeps and wont give hot water

1) Copy following link for Rheem tankless troubleshoot, including ecosense.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

2) Probably needs new circuit board.

3) Product manual usually give list of required yearly maintenance.
Perform the maintenance, just like changing oil on car, and then service technician is familiar with your water heater and can count on your money each year around Christmas.

4) For independence, reliability, cost, and convenience, don't buy tankless water heater, or any other expensive/complicated water heater that requires yearly maintenance, and generally cannot be repaired by homeowner.

Have a Rheem Powervent Water Heater. It's tripped out with the code of ECO Failure, the light flashing 4 times then twice. Need help

you will need a new control unit I am sorry to say. If the unit is under three years old I think they will send you a new controer for shipping. Many a time they have sent me new controls for free. I think they know when they get w bunch of woopppps heates with controls of fans,

I wish I had better news but call their 800 number and get the ball moving

Hope this was a help at least to save you a few dollars and not buying a new unit. aaaaaaaaaathe cost on that controler is right at 200.00 so I think I would be cold for a few days.

NAVY SHOWERS.

Be safe. Tom

My water heater is flashing a cod 2 then 3 how can i reset this i lost ths manual

First thing to try for any electronic problem is unplug the machine and see if problem resets.
Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem tankless resources including error codes and possible manual and Rheem chat and contact:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

Error code 2 and 3 do not show on Rheem/Paloma charts or in typical manual.
Error codes are generally considered start places for troubleshooting.
Multiple error codes can mean PC board failure, but same problem on one unit can have different cause and solution than another unit.

Read the manual and make sure yearly maintenance is caught up.

Add a comment and say what you did to solve problem.

RHEEM 50 GALLON WATER HEATER,4 BLINKS THEN 2 BLINKS ,ECO FAILURE,UNPLUGGED HEATER STARTS UP AGAIN THEN FAILURE OCCURS AGAIN.

That is a power vent failure code.
Rheem is aware of this problem and are changing systems as we speak. Call your Rheem dealer and demand the updated system.

Atwood 10 gallon H2O heater- replaced thermal couple and electrode spark and sensor but heater comes on with switch, heats water for 10 to 15 mins then burner goes out. Can hear a couple of switching...

I'd check that ECO and thermostat discs are making contact properly with tank.Just peel back foam cover on outside of tank that has ECO and THERM marked on it. If they are installed correctly, replace them.

My Superflue water heater is flashing Eco failure. What is this? What do I do?

Hi,
The ECO is short for emergency cut off.
The ECO is either tripped or it went bad. You may be able to reset it or you will have to contact a rep the sells your heater to get a new part. Some are resetable and some are not... not sure which you may have. The reset ones will have a little red button to push in the center.
The next rpoblem is to figure why the ECO went or tripprd in the first place. There is probably a reason or a cause. When you refire it make surte you donot have flame roll out and proper venting. Also make sure the the thermostat works and is not letting it get too hot.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

I dont know what ECO failure means or how to fix it.

This water heater is equipped with a control which has a built inE.C.O. (Energy Cut-Off). The E.C.O. will shut the gas off,
should the outlet water temperature exceed 200 F. If the
E.C.O. has tripped, the entire gas control must be replaced.
For gas control replacement, contact your local gas utility, or a
qualified service technician. The replacement control must be
an identical model to the control which has been removed.
