Whirlpool Duet Sport WFW8400TW03 front loader washer. Getting F20 error code. Things I've done. 1) checked hot/cold fill hoses, good water pressure, no clogs, inlet value screens appear clear 2) checked water pressure switch, checked continuity per manual, ok 3) blew into water pressure switch, heard 2 clicks, ok 4) blew into water pressure hose, could hear bubbles and air going through 5) Tried Hot cycle, then cold cycle, got F20 on both, usually washer fills up with water ok and then get F20 code, sometimes, looks like it goes through wash cycle and then F20. 6) Don't see any kinks in hoses interal or external, looks like all electrial connectors are connected.
Check for stuck socks or something just under the door seal at the bottom of the drum. Check filter for blockage and all outlet pipes. Check the pressure switch hose for any holes as it may have rubbed on the drum and created a small hole in it. Make sure flow meter is level and not at any angle.
Actually the door deal came off too and I re-installed it. I've also check the out filter area at the bottom right side and it's clear. The pressure switch hose appears good and has some installation keeping it away from the drum. Where is the flow meter, is that in the top of the depenser unit? Since it fills of with water shouldn't that be ok?
Also the F20 error code was happening before the door deal re-install too.
flow meter is located behind the dispenser housing, white circular shape with a hose connected to it. remove the lid and it should be visible right away.
The water goes through it when it fills and it counts how much water is going in to the machine.
Is there a way to test it that I can do? I read somewhere about blowing into it and measuring resistenance but it didn't say what to look for?
pull the flow meter and hold multi-meter leads to the sensor and blow into it, a ohm meter will progress from 0 to around 40k ohms.
Be carefull to blow softly in to the sensor to test for continuity.
Maybe this is a different washer, the flow meter looks like it just controls a part iniside the despencer maybe controlling water flow, doesn't look like water flows into it at all, it's located on the back right side of the despensce case. There are 2 wire plugs into it. Looks like it's just a motor turning that plastic arm. Here is a pic,http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir...
Site if offline at the moment so can't see pic. Are you sure all tubes are clear of blockages both inlet and outlets and filter and pump clean, outlet hose is not to high leaving to much water in it, and that the pressure switch tube is perfect? If the pressure switch tube even has a small pin hole in it it can create the F20 error and this is best checked with compressed air blown in to it with one end blocked off and it submerged in water to look for air bubbles, just blowing in to it doesn't always work. This washer doesn't have a flow meter inline with the inlet hoses after the inlet value as in that video. Also the presssure switch hose is secured and has white installation protecting it from the tube. I can blow into the pressure switch tube and hear air going through. The water drains from the tube ok, and I've check the drain filter and pump in the lower front and cleaned that area.
