it seems that youre monitor has a dry solder problem, try tapping it if the picture resumes to normal for a while than get it resoldered from a technician. if it soesnot solve problem than look out for a burnt resistance.

This is normal, but it should only take less than a minute for your computer to readjust, make sure all your graphic card drivers are updated, for that may be a factor.

Contact me if you need more detailed explaining.

SOURCE: my new 21' flatscreen monitor keeps shutting off :(

Usually when an LCD display shuts off on it's own this can be a power supply issue. I would say if you checked all the connections you may want to contact the manufacturer. If it is only a few months old then you should be able to get it replaced under warranty.

Also, you may have an auto shut off feature enabled on the display itself. You may want to go through the display's menu to very that this is not the case.

Connect a different monitor and check if it shows the same thing. If it does, then I suggest that you update the driver. If it's not going to fix it, then you might want to have the video card replaced or resetted. It could also be a problem with the data cord.
If you don't see the problem with the other monitor, then you would need to replace the current monitor that you are using.

I have compaq tft5000 15" lcd monitor when we

It is broken. Replace it.

If you look online for a "previously-owned" 15-inch LCD monitor, expect to pay $20 to $30.

If you go to any "big-box" electronics store, you can buy a 19-inch LCD monitor for under $100.

Either way, it's much less expensive to REPLACE it
than it would be for a professional TV/video technician to try to trouble-shoot and REPAIR it.

Compaq WF1907 19" monitor backlights are on, but

Check the monitor on another computer to verify if using correct setting for this monitor will allow a clear image to be displayed.

In windows 7, the monitor should be detected and installed automatically.

What version of windows are you using?

When i turn my monitor on it shows no picture and it makes a sound like it is running the electricty went out and when it came back on thats when the trouble started thank you

It's time to spend $100 to buy a brand-new 19-inch LCD monitor,
or $200 to buy a brand-new 22-inch LCD monitor,
rather than paying a TV/CRT technician $50 to $75 per hour to try to fix the "antique" monitor.

Monitor just turns itself off after 2 sec.

disconnect all the cables except the power cable and then turn the monitor on you would see a test screen if it still happens your monitor is faulty and better buy a new one as repairing is usually expensive .

My Acer AL1917WAbd 19" LCD powers off ~2 second after power on.

The monitor this old I will not be surprise if you will find a lot of bad caps inside, see what goes wrong with LCD monitors here:

http://www.badcaps.net
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

If you have it repaired, you will more likely to be charged $80~90, I would put that money toward a new monitor, just do not expect them to last more than 3 years on the new monitors.
