The charger appears to work AOK ie the green and yellow light do not stay on more than 15 minutes, however when the charge is finished the battery has nearily no live at all. For example after a complete charge I tried the battery on in my light and it lasted about a minute!!
Solution is two fold. Will try the freeze and re charge approach today and do this a few times. The long term soluiton is to purchase two Lithium batteries and a duel chemical charger. Expensive solution but seems it will work.
If the freez method does not work the pos and neg terminals are marked and you can take a car 12V batery charger and put the carge leads on the Po. and Neg terminals for a minute or two and then the batery will take a charge with red light lit.
After fighting with Ryoby wo seems to be a Company that doesn't care after you buy their products I decided to go and fix this using my Electronic-Techinician skills..And I got the problem. Just replace R5 and R6 for two new 4.3 Megaohms 1 watt resisitors....and that's it...goodluck to everone who has got them stuck and frustated with this problme and with the BAD AFTER SALES service Ryobi has , to help their clients after you bought their products..Best regards folks!
