A constant loud rattling noise throughout most of the day and night from a KGN33V60 model, appearing to come from the freezer compartment, for a very long time. This is the third replacement model we have had now. Two engineers said they could see no fault with this one after close examination, after the previous two packed up and didn't work at all. This model had been recalled according to one and had not to another. Who to believe? I have what sounds like a similar problem with a Bosch Bottom Freezer KGN39X00GB. I have defrosted it and within a day it is making the noise again. I think that the fan in the freezer section gets iced up then cannot turn, which causes the noise?

Lots of stuff can cause noise. The only moving part in the freezer is the fan. I don't know of anything else that moves. If ice build up is an issue, then there are several things to concider.

Not enough defrost time. Cycle too short or heaters are not hot enough for some reason. Could be undersized heaters from manufacturer.(?) Defrost timer could be bad causing short or no defrost at all. This timer also controls the defrost heaters and compressor being off during defrost.

Be sure the seal around the door is tight. No air gaps. Warm air (contains moisture) will cause freeze ups. Long shot is that the thermostat is bad and unit never shut off. If timer is bad, compressor coudl be running during defrost cycle.

Hope this helps

Freezer makes really loud noise

You need someone to check the fans and where the noise is coming from before the repair cost you a lot of money because of damage it can cause. The fan may be hitting ice in the freezer or out of balance because it is worn out. No one can hear what you hear and someone will need to be there to check these things out, Sea Breeze

Upright freezer makes a loud rattling sound, like something is loose. Doesn't do it all the time, but does several times a day.

have a look behing your drws in the freezer it has probably started to freeze and the fan that blows the cold air around will have an ice build up. The noise you hear is the fan bashing against the ice. The fan is normally situated behind the panel in the freezer section.

Hope this helps

Groaning Kenmore 13.5 cu. ft. Upright Freezer

This sounds like you either have a bad fan motor or if you have ice built up on the inside back panel. It could be that the fan blades are hitting ice built up around it. If so, you will have a defrost problem that will need to be addressed to fix the unit. But to repair it so it will stop making the noise, you can defrost the ice (if present) with a hair blow dryer. This will keep the ice away for a few days. Good luck.

If there is a defrost problem, the heater (located around the coil) is most likely the problem.

Woods Freezer Makes Loud Vibrating Noise at 10pm each night

sounds like either your compressor is loose and just rattling or the compressor is off balance and its rolling around inside the seal can.  take a look at it when it is making the noise.   put your hand on the compressor (careful   might be hot)   if it feel like it running smoothly then i would call an electrician cause that kinda puts me out of ideas without being there...  sorry

Good luck

Loud noises, bangs and sounds like water falling

if it’s a banging sound--- I know one of the noises the system 2000 will make is a bang or rattle at the end of the run cycle, which we call "shudder stop". If this is your noise then I have to give you some bad news here. Sorry....... The only way of repairing this is by having your compressor replaced as it has to do with an internal problem in the compressor itself. There may be a silver lining, though, if you are the original purchaser and you have the receipt. Some of these systems came with a 10 year warranty on the compressor, so you might want to check this out.good luck
