System will not record messages

When memory is full, saved messages must be deleted before new messages can be recorded.

If RO (announce only) is selected, no messages will be recorded.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Can not replay message

If you are at the machine and know which box the message is in, press and hold the button for the mailbox. The machine will then play old messages.

Can not record a clear voice message

The internal microphone might be failing. If you haven't already tried….call into the answering and recording the greeting that way.

If that's been tried and doesn't work, there isn't much more that can be done as modern electronic devices are not designed to be user fixable.

You might be able to find a used 1725 or 1726 for sale on eBay.

Record Your Announcement

You must record your announcements (A, b,C and RO) one at a time.

1 Select the announcement you wish to record.

2 Press and hold "ANNC/SKIP". When the system beeps, speak toward the microphone normally, from about nine inches away.

3 To stop recording, release "ANNC/SKIP". The system automatically plays back your announcement.

To review your announcement, press and release "ANNC/SKIP".

To erase your announcement and return to the pre-recorded announcement press "DELETE" while your announcement is playing.

Messages ALL erased!

The answering machine is supposed to save messages during a power failure. If the messages are gone, then the unit is defective.
