I have intel inside 946 mother board & i want to know its ralated configaration because i need better speed to fast work i have 512 mb ram in my system i hope its more fast & more batter so i hope please reply my soon
You need at least 1GB of Ram Memory, and should have 2GB.
[512MB + 512MB = 1024MB or also stated as 1GB ]
The - Intel 946 - designator you have listed refers to the motherboard chipset.
It is either an Intel 946PL, or Intel 946GZ motherboard chipset,

You can see the list of processors it supports. Also look at the Front Side Bus speed it supports (FSB), and note 65nm architecture for the processor.
As for office work, or surfing the internet; more Ram Memory will help.
For editing videos, or intense games though, you need a decent graphics card.

The best place to get the specs is from intel itself. www.intel.com another place is cnet.com. you can also download hwinfo and run it and it will give you alto of info including the type of ram. in this case the most ram it can take is 4 gm ddr2 sdram pc2-5300. you can buy it online from www.kingston.com or a local computer shop. good luck.

Excellent solution, plus addition of video.
thank you - two things that you can do to get better performance 1. add more memory 2 gigs of ram if only running xp, vista. and add a video card with at least 256 meg of ram. other things that you can do is to run live boot cd's like hbcd.
if you are only surfing the net.
good luck

Hi,
As you said the system is restarting because of power section problem.
Try to change SMPS and see the difference. Even though if it fail.
Try using single ram if problem repeat change with other ram.
Else
Load bios defaults.
If Not Ok
Contact Intel Support:
With your bill No, Serial No & model no.
or you can mail to: [email protected]
Hope this will work...

If your computer just stop running the Fan and shuts down it means its failing to cooldown properly possibly cause
Computer need to operate below a certain temperature so it has a safety feature to turn itself off just before it get damaged

Disable the onboard sound car in cmos , then plug in a pci slot fitting sound card, reboot, windows will report new hardware found, load the drivers, restart for changes to take effect, job done.

hello, you just have a shared memory with the on-board ati graphics, if it's on- board graphic card it shares the system memory-most are adjustable through the system bios-in 64,128,256 settings. and if you put more memory, in most cases it will automatic-raise the memory size of the graphics memory. i hope this helps you, all the best. if you need further assistance reply. don't forget to rate this solution.

Well first of all, there is no "adapter". You have to use the specified RAM that you motherboard supports. Secondly, even if there was an adapter so to speak, it would not be beneficial. The only difference performance wise between DDR and DDR2 is speed. So if your motherboard supports DDR, and you had an "adapter", your motherboard would only read the DDR2 at DDR speed. In my opinion, DDR2 is not really worth the upgrade to another motherboard just for DDR2. If you want the biggest bang for your buck, upgrade the CPU, or put more memory in the motherboard you already have. Hope this helps, and please don't forget to rate. Thanks.
