Yes, I work for GE what you need to do is to resent the appliance. Something should had happened with the computer of the washer. Just unplugged the machine for 40 seconds. You can unplugged or turn off the circuit breaker for 40 second and plugged back in. Select a normal cycle and let it run.

My simpson top loader will not complete cycle.

More likely than not it is your control regulator gone out. This is where your rotary knob is.

Dial keeps clicking around wont select a cycle, it was stopped mid cycle by accident then we tried to start at a new cycle ,since then the dial is costantly going around and the machine is full of water.

the washer is trying to reset its self. pull the washer out put the waste pipe to floor level to empty the water <not no your floor > plumb it back in then turn it on and it will sort its self out

Child lock

Try turning the dial back to off, and then try it again.
Make sure the door is shut properly.
Don't interrupt a prog once it has started., if you do , it will start to do funny things.

Programme dial again

yes thats your problem, the reason it wont unscrew is because of things caught inside ie coins gunk you will have to take out machine turn on side, there are two sometime four screws at front of machine where black dail is remove these, when machine is on its side you can acess pump from underneath, there is a black rubber hose which goes from drum to pump which is held on with a circlip remove this at pump end you will need a vicegrip, remove all gunk coins ect, refit all back to machine ,,problem solved......the reason dail was turning was because it was looking for progam to release water which it couldnt because of blockage, after tou unblock you will find that black srew on cover on front can be removed(always better to check for blockages every few weeks hopes this helps

Stuck in wash cycle

check if heating by putting on as hot wash and feeling the door. if no heat, check continuity thro the heater - modern heaters have a non-resettable cut-out in them which can cause problems. no heat then no program advance
