PS3 Freezes after 20 mins of gameplay

I've had my ps3 for over a year now and have not suffered any problems with until now. Ever since buying Uncharted my PS3 has been freezing everytime i play on it. When this happens i quite game and then turn the ps3 off. however before doing so i try to eject the disc which doesnt happen. After the ps3 turns off after about 30 secs. It automatically reboots and then when i take the disc out and put it back in again it cannot read it, no error messages are displayed and its begining to frustrate me. Then I turn it off and leave it for a while and turn it back on again, it reads the disc fine. and then repeats the whole procedure above after 20 mins of gameplay.

I am having the same problems. Had no problems before and no error messages are displayed. Came about during COD world at war.

after 20 mins of play ps3 freeze's won't eject doesn't matter what game i'm playing had no prblems before this

Freezes when playing games is not a new problem. Your PS3 Blu-ray drive is aged and need do some maintenance or being replaced. You can easily to find PS3 blu-ray drive parts which selling on eBay or Yahoo. So don't waste money to find someone to fix it yet! You CAN replace it by yourself after you follow the tutorials. This sounds like a problem with the HDD. If you have any save files you wish to back up, use the Backup Utility under the settings menu. Once you've done that, Format the PS3. If you are still experiencing problems you will need to contact Sony. Their number is 1-800-345-7669.

Have suffered YLOD and self repaired succesfully. PS3 froze in mid-game. Could not quit game from PS3 button on controller. Blue light for cd ok and can hear disc spinning. Ejects and loads disc ok....

dvd cds run normally bluray freezes after 1 or 2 mins. i cleaned len an same problem occured on ps3 no overheating no dust

Ps3 freezing during gameplay I play for about 20 min and it starts to freeze and then it goes black and I can't shut it down any other way than turing off switch in the back

Your PS3 locked up then the only way to turn it off is the switch in the back.

Now if your PS3 is locking up this is a sign that there may be some corrupted data on your hard drive. The link below will help you address this. If you still have trouble then this is a sign that you have a hardware problem with your PS3.

if u play for the PS3 like save ur game and turn it off evey like 1 one hour for like 10 minutes especially the 40 gig if this dosent work buy a fan for it its at gamestop for like $45-$85
