SOURCE: Can't Get My GE Profile XL44 Self-Cleaning Gas Range to CLEAN ! ! ! ! !

I also have a XL44 (GE JGBP90) and I can't figure out how to latch the door. When I press Self Clean, the display asks me to latch the door, but I don't see a lever. I think it might involve lifting the range, but I don't want to force it. Any ideas?

SOURCE: GE Spectra XL44 Gas Oven, flashing "Locked Door". Can't use oven or close door

I had the same problem happen tonight. I have an XL44 self-cleaning gas range. We unplugged it for several minutes and pressed 'cancel' a bunch of times--neither worked. We finally lucked out--opened the oven door and pressed a black button on the upper left side of the front of the oven. It turned out the flashing words and unlocked our door. Weird. There was nothing in the manual about this...

SOURCE: GE Profile elec range JSP40 Locked door flashing can't use oven

Replace the oven temperature sensor to solve the F3 problem.
You may need to replace the oven lock micro switch to solve the locking problem.
Change the sensor first. Then try the oven.

SOURCE: ge xl44 after self clean cycle the door won't open

Unplug the unit or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the unit back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
or
Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
If these procedures fail to correct the condition, the lock must usually be accessed and moved manually to open the door.
Some model ovens require the oven door to be manually unlatched before the controls are returned to the OFF position or else the door may not be able to be unlocked. Check the owner's manual for proper operating procedures.

SOURCE: Oven door after self clean cycle won't unlock

Both the oven" ON " light and " Clean " light will flash when the clean has finished . When the " clean " light flashes , slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go , then turn the " OVEN SET " knob to " OFF " to open the door.

Did self clean on my GE Profile Electric True Temp range - now the door will not unlock. Held the cancel button in for 3 seconds - no luck.. Any suggestions?

Do a hard reset of the control panel and locking mechanism. Unplug the cord, wait five minutes and then plug it in again. Try the door. You could also try to start another cleaning, interupt after 5 min hitting the clear/off button

Oven door won't unlock

I had the same problem on my Kenmore Electric Range. Door would not unlock. Tried pressing "Off" for multiple seconds, but still would not unlock. No error codes. Clock was displaying normally. Finally decided to try running it thru the self cleaning operation to get it to cycle thru locking and unlocking the door. When I started self clean, the door automatically went thru the auto lock and "locked" appeared in the display. I then hit "Off" to clear it and stop the cleaning cycle. The door then unlocked as normal!

Frigidaire---oven door locks.

On my Frigidaire electric range with flat screen front controls, when the "Clean" control was accidentally pushed and the door locked, I could not unlock the door by cutting power, by running the clean mode for 30 seconds then pushing "Clear", or by hitting any button. What opened the door was holding down the "Clear" button for 30 seconds until the range started beeping and code "F11" read on the led. This worked. Good luck with yours.
