Check with new battries, and if you have a camera phone you could see the front IR bulb lighting up when seen through the phone display. Patrick

I have a symphonic 27 inch tv and need the code

Google the model number of remote and the set for "manual" which should have possible codes.

With the manual for the remote look to see if it has a search mode which will allow you to try every possible code one at a time to find one that works.

Universals even if programmed will be missing key features the original remote had.

I have a 27 inch symphonic crt tv. i have a bell satellite reciever hooked up to it with the renote programmed for the tv. i accidentally hit the mute button and now there is a 2 on each corner of the tv...

hi there, plugging and unplugging won't work that way. Pls try This:
1. look for the Program menu of your bell satellite unit
2. under menu you will see the settings there and try to reconfigure it or reset the current program.
3. scan for available channels and save it. i hope this will help you a little. Thank You.

27'' symphonic TV. Sony remote wont work since switched 2 digital

Use the channel buttons on the unit to go down past channel 2, usually you can get to the inputs this way.

OLD REMOTE NEEDS PROGRAMING

Each Remote is Different... it will only work if the IR Codes Match your TV.. if they dont then you have no hope of getting it 2 work.. most likly just through it out... coz its prob just cheeper to buy a universal one from your local supermarket

Tv won't recognize remote codes

If the manufacturer of the universal remote cannot give you codes for the Symphonic you are out of luck. U will either have to get an original replacement or get a Harmony universal remote.

Game mode issue, remote needed!!!!

I had this problem on a symphonic 27 inch TV I just bought from a friend who no longer had a remote. What I did was bought a universal remote (a specific one that someone told me about) for 8 bucks at walmart and I was then able to switch to game mode with the Input select on the remote. The remote I bought that actually worked is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Magnavox-PM435S-4-Device-Universal/dp/B00006686A/ref=acc_glance_ce_ai_-2_1_tit/002-3174824-8273629
Make sure you look at it before you buy it and make sure it has a button that specifically says "input" on it. I know that some of the universal remotes don't have an input select button or one that doesn't work. As long as you get a Philips-Magnavox that has that button, you should be ok. Much better solution that paying 30 bucks for a new remote specifically for the TV. Hope this helps.

I own a symphonic 27" television

I had this problem on a symphonic 27 inch TV I just bought from a friend who no longer had a remote. The thing with the menu and buttons on the front of the TV doesn't actually change the TV to true game mode. I don't know what it acutally does, but it isn't really in game mode. When it is in true "game mode" you can't change the channels until you turn game mode off.

Remote randomly works. 27" Symphonic TV... but remote works on other Symphonics in the house

I would get a new remote control first. Just because it is the same brand doesn't mean the same reote codes are used.
