Door on Frigidaire front load washer loose

The door on my front load washer hangs down to far and lines up below the latch slot. The door moves up and down when lifted to make the striker plate line up to latch the door. I often have to hold my knee against the door for it to lock and stop buzzing. Www have had the door assembly lock replaced by service tech assigns I have replaced the striker plateplate numerous times due to my children slamming the door shut. I think the door is lose because they lean on it to hold themselves up while loading the washer. Can you tell me how to fix this without calling a technician

Front loader hard to latch, door drops down when opened, should I replace hinge?

Yes, maybe. The hinge may just be loose though. Hopefully, the screws holding it in place have not worn out the threads. Is there a lot of downward pressure being applied to the door.

Front end loader washer door does not line up to close

Check to see if the door is sagging. If so, contact Frigidaire you might be able to adjust the door and save money rather than replace the switch.

Sounds like the door is not latching correctly. Check the door for any sagging problems and then check the door latch itself for any damages, cracks, or issues with the door itself connecting to it.

The door on my fridgidaire atf8000fs1 sags so it doesn't shut correctly. I've had to order a new door striker since the last one broke off. How do I adjust it so it hangs correctly?

Frigidaire washer door sagging so strike and door lock not lining up correctly. After a period of time front load washer doors tend to start to drop below normal position. The glass in the front doors are very thick, heavy and only supported by plastic inner frame. This combined with continued opening and closing will over time make your front load door start to sage. Fortunately Frigidaire makes a door shim kit for this problem.

After you have ordered and received the shim kit part #137309800. Start with removing the three screws holding the door to the machine. Lay the door face down on a soft surface as to no scratch the front of the door and glass. Remove the screws securing the outer frame and with a very small flat screw driver shim it between the inner and outer panels. Make sure to note the position of the frame and glass. Next remove the inner plastic frame, you should have access to the hinge at this point. Install the shim kit according to the instructions that come with the kit. Reinstall the hinge, inner frame and screws. Install the door back onto the washer, your door strike and lock should line up in the correct position at this time.

Can I reverse the door on my new Frigidaire Affinity front loader?

Hi, as far as i know you can only reverse the dryer, the wiring for the door latch doesnt allow you to reverse it on this washer.

Front door won't open

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" "DLE" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

Makes a loud buzzing noise when attempting to start cycle

The lock solenoid on the door latch assembly may be hanging up or just noisey. If washer starts and runs then all is ok. If washer wont start, just buzzes, then door latch assembly may have to be changed.

I close washer door but it wont go through cycle

Check to see if one of the two tabs on the door latch assembly are broken. If one is broken, replace the door latch. If the door latch is ok, you might have to replace the door switch and the door latch. To replace the door switch you have to remove the front panel. Remove the two screws holding the door switch assembly in place and drop the door switch assembly down into the bottom of the washer. Remove the wires and transfer to the new switch. Reach up and line up the new switch and install the two screws. Remove the two screws on the door latch assembly on the door, and remove old door latch. Install the new latch and replace the front panel. I hope this helps.
