Hi, remove the machines cover with the machine unplugged then look for disconencted plugs etc within the machine. careful where you place your bare hands.

motor leads on a three phase are T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9. for high voltage [480] L1 to T1, L2 to T2, L3 to T3, connect together and tape - T4-T7, T5-T8, T6-T9. For LOW voltage [240] L1 to T1 & T7 & tape, L2 to T2-T8 & tape, L3 to T3 & T9 & tape. T4-T5-T6 together and tape.

by ats I assume that you mean an (automatic transfer switch) this is a very non forgiving installation please (no disrespect intended) get a professional to do this for you. you are mixing generator supplied voltage with residential hydro depending on your situation you could end up back feeding the grid and put your self and / or your neighbours in harms way no b/s my friend I have seen it "not pretty"
