Front, rear ? I'd say fuser assembly gears or drum on toner cartridge; check the gear teeth on the toner cartridge's drum.

SOURCE: HP Color LaserJet 2840 making awful noises

This can be numerous issues really.
Either the paper being used the printer does not like, this can be the texture, type, size etc try making sure all the rollers are clean. If problem persists Id take it to get a service done.
Good luck

SOURCE: My HP Laserjet 1200 is screeching constantly

Probably the laser-mirror motor. It will screech until the load gives a error and the printer shows error/ is dead.
However, the motor can be lubed. Remove sides, remove screws found, remove top cover. Remove and open the black box containing laser. Remove motor board and lube the motor, dont get the mirror dirty. Asseble. Total time 15min...

You might find that it is the gear driving the fuser, these plastic gears get very worn when driving the ceramic fuser gear. Right Rear plate assembly RG5-7580 with the gears that connect the fuser motor to the fuser.

What the part no for main motor assy. The whole assy that needs to be replaced due to unusual grinding noise during paper run.

You cannot typically buy the entire assembly as one piece. You need to purchase the main motor and then all the related gears. There are companies out there that sell a kit with all the gears, look for one for the 5200 laserjet as they are the same.

Laserjet m5025 mfp making a grinding noise

There are two possible causes of the grinding noise and it depends on where the noise is coming from. If the noise is coming from the left front then the fuser drive is worn. If the sound is coming from the back right then the drum drive assembly is defective and needs to be replaced. The drum drive has been a big issue on this model, especially in dirty conditions like metalworking shops. It requires fairly extensive removal of components to repair the problem.

My Laserjet 5SI printer has been jamming a lot lately and now it's making a grinding noise. Should I replace the cartridge or what?

Fusers generally make grinding noises more than cartridges do. If your paper jams are in the fuser area, check the fuser first.

When you open the left side door of the printer, the fuser is installed on a shelf near the top of the cavity. To remove the fuser, grasp the left and right blue fuser release handles and rotate them to the straight up and down (vertical position. Then lift up on the fuser and remove it from the printer.

Take a close look a the at the gear located on the top left corner of the fuser - does it have broken/ bent teet or is it loose on its mounting shaft? If so, that's probably causing both the paper lams and the grinding.

Also look in the printer directly under where this gear would be if the fuser were inserted in the pinter. Do tou see a build-up of fine particles the same color as the fuser gear. If you do that's further proof the the gear is bad.

You can but a replacement fuser at several places - check out www.printerworks.com & you can get one on an exchange basis.

The most common problem with grinding is from compacted toner. Try changing the toner cartridge.

HP P3005 making grinding noises

this is a problem that HP refuses to acknowledges. Its caused by the gear that meshes with the main fuser gear..it wanders to the right as the printer prints. we are checking into a fix for this, since we are getting no cooperation for the manufacturer, Canon or HP. Canon makes the print engine
