Where do I find my WEP key?

You'll have to log in to the Administrator page using a wired connection to configure wireless settings. Some wireless routers default the key to an ID # on the bottom of the router.

Can't remember my wep code. Need wep code for DSL, for laptop, & other game systems

Connect your computer to one of the ports at the back of your router with a DSL cable.

  • Open a web browser and type "http://192.168.1.1/" in the address bar. This will bring up your administration page for your router.
  • Log in by leaving the username blank and use "Admin" for the password. These are the username and password you use if you haven't already set something up previously.
  • Click on the "Wireless" tab at the top of the screen, and then on the"Wireless Security" tab.

How do I create a password for this wireless router?

I'm assuming you mean the wireless network password, not the configuration page password. I'm also assuming the router is still configured with the defaults:

    - open your browser to 192.168.2.1
    - press "Log in"
    - leave the password blank and press "submit" button
    - on the left panel, under "Wireless" section, select "security"
    - select WPA-PSK for encryption since its more secure than WEP and others, and set the key you wan to use as wireless password
    - apply your changes

it may be a good idea to set and administrator password (The log in password) to protect your configuration from being changed by someone else. You can change it under the "Utilities" section.

This is your router's user manual for further reference:

    good luck

    How to change password?

    If you can't remember your Network Password, you need to reset your router in order to change your network password. Here's how to do it;
    1. With the router still on, find a small hole in the middle right (router's back is facing you) of the router, near the power chord with label 'reset' below it. Using a thin and hard object like toothpick or wire, press the unseen button inside the hole and hold it for at least 15 seconds.
    2. Using a computer connected to the router, log-in to Router's IP which 192.168.0.1.
    3. In the log-in page, type 'admin' as username and in most DIR 600 routers, password is usually left blank. If blank password fails, use 'admin' as password.
    4. When you get into the Router's page, look for the option "Wireless Setup" and start configuring your wireless access. You may have two (2) options to configure your wireless. The first is by using a wizard, and the second is by manually configuring it. Find your comfort there...

    Hope this helps...

Constantly being logged off playstation network. different error codes all the time. One will say Dnla error. thensersvers are experiencing high traffic.another onbe is no media servers are available. My...

Your problem could technically be caused by a number of things , the most common ( I experience it quite often at my in-law's ) is incorrect / default settings on your router . If your internet provider gives you a wireless router / dsl modem combo ( like AT&T Uverse ) the default settings are horrible . 1st thing to do is identify your router ( brand / model # ) & obtain the default administrator password ( either from the manufacturers website / user guide or by calling ( ex. AT&T ) . Once you have the administrator login & password , you can fine tune your network settings .
You will need to have a pc connected to the router with an ethernet cable ( at least for configuring , then you can disconnect & use wireless ) . You will then need to open a internet browser , & type in the router's web management console address ( 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.1.1 , or you can find it in the router manual ) & hit enter . You should now see a page with user & password blanks for you to login .
Once you have logged in you can start configuring the router for better performance , media sharing , coverage , & security . I recommend doing a google search on your particular router to get some good ideas / presets for you to configure ( if you don't know what something means don't just start changing things for the heck of it ( you could very easily screw up your whole network ) .
If this doesn't resolve your issue , try connecting with an ethernet cable instead of wireless , try disconnecting other devices on your network ( if you have a lot of devices ( pc's , phones , game systems , etc... )) , finally try performing a system restore if all else fails .

How can I find out my password?

Unfortunatly there is no way of recovering you password "Sorry" However you could always reset your router to default settings also this will tell you step by step how to secure your router as well:

    google_ad_client = "pub-4145730283403556"; /* TE - Post Content - 300x250 */ google_ad_slot = "9003666386"; google_ad_width = 300; google_ad_height = 250; google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);

    Linksys WRT54G Reset Button Location
To reset your router, use the following steps:

    1. Press the reset button for 30 seconds.
    2. The settings should now be returned to the factory default settings, meaning any changes you had made would be deleted.
    3. Open up your Web browser and enter "192.168.1.1′ in the address bar.
    4. For the login, leave a blank ID and enter "admin" as the password.
Through the Web Administration Pages The second method involves logging into the Web administration pages of the router. Use the following steps to reset the router using this method:
    1. Open your Web browser and enter the IP address of your router. By default, the address is "192.168.1.1′.
    2. Enter your user ID And password when prompted. Hopefully this has been changed, but if it hasn't, the default is no ID and "admin" as the password.
    3. At the top of the Web page, click "Administration" and then "Factory Defaults".
    4. Beside "Restore Factory Defaults", click "Yes".
    5. Now click the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the Web page.

I can't access my routers administration page. It tells me to type in http://192.168.0.1 and all I get is a bunch of search results instead of the administration page

disconnect your modem from router, or turn off your modem from router...

    Now try to open...

because the router admin page will be built inside the router itself... so you never require internet connection to be ON for opening the router admin page...

Where do I find the WEP key code on my modem model number 2247NWG

the network administrator (whoever configure your router) should have the wep key you're looking for, if you're that person and forgot your wepkey you need to reset your router so you can go back into the router configuration page and reset a new key (and hopefully you'll remember it next time).
here some instructions for your product:

check on page 14 (FAQ) of router's manual
resetting router to default configuration (router's manual)

    good luck!
