My printer is displaying "Print Server Down". How can I fix this error?

this printer has a usb interface can you see an axis 1650 usb to ethernet server box attached to the usb cable that is attached to the printer ?
would check power to the usb to ethernet server box see photo inserted of what it looks like !
Maybe the power has been disconnected or the ac-dc adapter has gone faulty .
If it has power may be try removing power from it for 20 seconds and then re plug in and then test by printing to printer.
check print server has valid ip address.
also check dhcp server on network has not got printer servers ip address in its lease range. check also that printer server's ip address is static and not being set automatically.
if printer server is ip address try going to dos prompt on p.c. and type in ping {ip address of server} eg c:> ping 192.168.0.2
press Enter key
should get a reply 4 times

Reset brother mfc8880dn

If you wish to reset the print server back to its default factory settings (resetting all information such as the password and IP address information), please follow these steps. Before you factory reset the print server, we recommend that you print a configuration page before resetting the print server.
<For BRAdmin Professional ver.2.xx Users>
Start the BRAdmin Professional utility, by clicking Start => All Programs or Programs => Brother Administrator Utilities => Brother BRAdmin Professional Utilities => BRAdmin Professional.
  1. From the main BRAdmin screen double click the appropriate printer.
  2. Enter the print server password (The default password is "access").
  3. Click the Control tab
  4. Click the Restore Factory Defaults button
  5. Click the OK button when you have read the warning message.
  6. The print server will then reset back to its default values.

  2. From the main BRAdmin screen double click the appropriate machine.
  3. Enter the print server password (The default password is "access").

Via a web browser
Because web based management requires the TCP/IP protocol for communication, any reset option you see when managing the machine with a web browser, will not reset the IP address details that are set. If you wish to totally reset all the print server parameters we recommend you reset the print server by using the BRAdmin application.
To reset the print server (excluding TCP/IP parameters) follow these steps:
  1. Connect to the printer using a web browser.
  2. Click Network Configuration.
  3. Enter the print server password (the print server password is detailed in the user guide for the print server) if it's applicable.
  4. Click the Set Default link or Reset Print Server.
Via the control panel (only for network ready models)
  1. Make sure the machine is not operating, then disconnect all the cables from the machine (except power cable).
  2. Press the Menu or Menu/Set key on the control panel.
  3. Press up or down navigation key to select LAN or Network and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
  4. Press up or down navigation key to select Factory Reset or Network Reset and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
  5. Select Reset.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The machine will re-start, re-connect cables once this is complete.

My home network uses WPA security. How can I use my D-Link DP-311P print server? It seems to support WEP but not WPA.

This is a very old 802.11b only print server (made in 2003, discontinued in 2006), and only supports WEP It also runs the slower 802.11b protocol (11mbps) and will tend to slow down your whole wireless network if you use it. You are much better off replacing it with a more modern print server.

If you insist on using it, you will have to switch your wireless network to use WEP instead of WPA.

What is the default password for D-Link DP-300U print server? Thank you

The D-Link DP-301U Print Server does *not* have a password by default. If you have come into the possession of one and it is password protected, then it is likely that the previous owner added a password.
In order to bypass it and reset the Print Server, while the device is powered on, you will have to hold down the RESET button on the back using a paper clip for 10 seconds.
[NOTE: If this helps, please leave feedback.]

Can not install

Chapter 3 - Configuration
This section will show you how to configure your new D-Link wireless print server using the web-based configuration
utility.
Web-based Configuration Utility
The IP address of your print server will be automatically assigned by your router.
To access the print server’s web-based configuration interface:
Windows® XP users:
Double-click on the My Network Places icon on your desktop. Your print server will be displayed as “DPR-1260:
dlinkps-xxxxxx” (where xxxxxx is the last 6 characters of your print server’s MAC address). If you do not see the print
server or have UPnP enabled, please refer to page 13.
Windows® 2000 users:
You will need to write down the MAC address located on the bottom of the print server (E.G. 00-54-23-45-f5-b6). Open
a web browser and enter the following:
http://dlinkps-XXXXXX
XXXXXX = the last six characters of your MAC address.
Note: Some printer software features may not work
while connected to the print server such as ink level display.

This will prove the print server is working. If you can not access the web interface then it may not be getting an address from the router

IOGEAR GMFPSU22W6 PRINT SERVER not being seen by the control software that came with the hardware. Using a Wireless N router with hard wire from the router to the print server and network is up and...

For the GMFPSU22W6, there's two possible reason why it's not being seen by the MFP Control Center. First, the MFP Control Center was properly installed, second, the Print Server is not working correctly. To resolve this problem, please try the solutions below:

1. Uninstall/re-install the MFP Control Center.

2. Reset the GMFPSU22W6 by holding down the "Init" button that's located on the right side of this device. Hold it down by 10 seconds and then unplug the power adapter while still holding down the "Init" button for another 10 seconds.

3. Resealse the button and turn it back on by connecting the power adapter to it.
