I keep having the same problem return, the display gets stuck and does not respond to touch, after messing with it and restarting it will eventually begin working again. Any ideas?

Which model of Ricoh are we talking about here? If touch screen is not responding before replacement, re-calibrate touch screen or replace it. I can help you with the calibration code if you require. The mobile screen would have been damaged or a device connected to your screen my be defected .Try to remove your touch screen safe guard sticker then clean the display. If this doesn't work out for you consult your dealer for replacement of new display.
I think if you push the heated wash and heated dry buttom several times until all the buttoms light up this may fix your problem. You may have different kind of light flashing indicator, but the same solution. Possibly check the sequence switch
