I just got a Samsung HKT-450 hands-free speakerphone and have tried to pair it with my Motorola V9 cell phone. the instructions that came with the HKT450 said to enter "0000", didn't work. I tried 1234, 1111, 9999, still didn't work. I called Samsung, they said use "0000" or call Motorola, so I called Motorola & was told the same thing.....use "0000"
Can you help me?????
Thanking you in advance,
Bob
Most probably the hands free device is not in pairing mode. The way to put it in pairing mode is as follows:
- press the off button till the device is off
- hold the ON/OFF button for 6 seconds
- THE device shouLD be in pairing mode now and the red/blue lights will flash alternatingly.
- Now you can use your phone to serarch and enter "0000" .
- Then turn it off.
- Turn it on by holding the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. Teh blue light will flash only (no red light flashing).
It finally paired for me after i held the talk switch on the hkt450, for about 20+ seconds. he password i used was 0000. once i saw the red and the blue lights alternating the pairing worked instantly, till then i was having the same problem as you mentioned.
Here's the answer> I tried and tried on different phones but nothing worked until I held down the MFB longer than the recommended 6 secs. You have to hold it down until you hear a beep from the speaker, then enter the passcode. Soon as I did this it worked flawlessly.
I had same problem trying to pair using the steps listed in manual and in these other responses...while device was plugged into charger.
i did the same steps using code 0000, with device UNPLUGGED from charger and it paired successfully.
