SOURCE: We tried using a headset with it. Now, without

Here is a link to the user guide, reference page 22 for instructions on turning iVOX and VOX on or off: http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T65xx.pdf (Double check you do not have the lock symbol showing while trying to change programming.)

Also, another phenomenon which can occur is when you unplug a headset or audio device while the radio is still turned on. This can leave the radio partially in VOX mode. You might try plugging in the device with the radio turned off. Then turn the radio on, use the device in VOX mode. Then shut the radio off and remove the device. See if it clears the radio's sense of having a headset plugged in.

A damaged jack can also cause the same problem.

Best regards.

Is it possible to fix a non working PTT button on a RDV2020

The PTT button is one of the common failure parts. It is replaceable, but best done by an experienced repair center.

The following things can happen over time:
1) The internal PTT switch can wear out from frequent usage.
2) The user begins to press harder to get the PTT to work, bending the PTT switch further away from the external button the user is pressing.
3) Plastic diaphram, if any present, gets broken in half, and the external PTT switch doesn't work anymore.

Several companies offer flat rate repair on this style unit for around $85.

Best regards.

Motorola t7 - 1 unit has receive indicator permanently on (except when you PTT when icon switches to send) and will not engage other unit. How do I reset to manufacturer settings as removing battery does...

Hold in the PTT and the monitor button while turning on the radio (wait for the sounds to stop) will put you into programming mode. You can then use the menu button and the +/- buttons to walk you through the settings. Using this menu, you can program your radio to match your other unit.

To read out your master radio, put it in programming mode, and simply press the menu button to walk through the settings. Do not press the +/- along the way, as it would change a setting. Once your have your master radio read-out, you can proceed with programming the one you are having a problem with.

Best regards.

We tried using a headset with it. Now, without the headset it goes back and forth between iVox and regular mode everytime you push the PTT button. Is there a way to stop it from going into Vox mode?

Just bought my two way radio. they go out but don,t receive

Check your programming. Your frequency, interference eliminator code and Qt filter (if any) must match identically between all radios in the group. Also, check to see if you have VOX or iVOX turned on/off. This radio has a feature called iVOX, which allows you to use the radio hands-free. If iVOX is turned on, and your radio is in a noisy environment, you would experience the radio being stuck in transmit mode. When this happens it will not receive.

Motorola T5500 - Continuous transmitt with headset

1) Be certain the radio is shut off when plugging in the audio device.
2) On most units, press the PTT button to turn off the VOX feature.
3) If you are not planning to use VOX. Turn the VOX feature off. Follow the programming instructions which came with the radio.

PTT SCREEN HAS UNABLE TO ADD CONTACT MESSAGE:

I had this problem and we needed to contact our cellular company to verify settings. After some time looking into the problem they said it was a hardware malfunction and swapped phones for us. I think there must be a solution to this problem that the cell representatives did not know about.
