Trying to progam divert to external number but do not have a digit to give outbound line - (we lift handset and select line), how do i achieve divert to external line if we dont have a number access external line?
It could be a simple as the phone has call forwarding to another extension set up on it or the direct line could also be programmed on the other set. Does the screen on the non- ringing m7208 display "forward to:xxx" or does it display the current day and time?

I believe that you are requesting to set Call Forward All. Lift handset, press *50 and then dial the number to which you would like to "divert". To cancel the call forwarding, lift handset and press #50.

If you are using the Kx-TA624 pbx (TES 824 models) system, program your phone unit (t7730) as follows: lifet handset, press FWD/DND button, press 3, then the outside line access code, then phone number, then #, then return handset.
If you are using the kx-ta1232 (higher models) of pbx system (usually with 9 or more CO lines cabable, use the following command:
lift handset, press FWD/DND button, press 6, then the outside line access code, then telehone number, then # then return handset to cradle.

Do you have the same problem with different numbers that you fax to? Are you usinga voip phone service? I use Vonage and have a lot of trouble with faxing. Call the number you are faxing to with a different phone and listen for a fax tone.
This may happens because of your service provider.
some service provider active diverts for listing out ur incoming or outgoing calls or message it to u.
