Hi , you will need a Wifi Access Password , this should be on the bottom of your modem or provided to you.also make sure Wifi is enabled on both ur iPhone and Modem.....If problem still persists then your modem could be faulty...Try testing a wifi PC with the modem, if it works then its Settings on your iPhone. 1) install Motorola Phone Tools in PC.
2) Select Modem in Phone Main Menu >> Settings >> Connection >> Modem.
3) Connect the handset with PC and run The MPT.
4.) Select the File transfer media and transfer data from Mobile to PC.

Actually in short "you NEED A MODEM;"
In order to connect your router you need to connect a modem in "bridge mode'( bridge mode is nothing but a configuration on the modem)..
this is a picture of rear side of a router,,, you have to connect the modem into the wan port of the router (above),, and in port number 1,2,3,4 you can connect your computers,
there is a need to reconfigure your router to work with your modem. If configured already before, then there is great chance that this has been set back to factory default.
