Keep getting all time on screen c?? 48tn -311

I have tried loads of things with remote, but it is still there. thank you.

    HI

    yeh i have the same problem with my nan's C 25 48TN !!

    in large white print across the screen its coming up with C ?? 48TN

    really need to work this one out for me nan!!

    I've even tried contacting Hitachi and no one seems to know what the problem is!

Evilgenius - thank you thank you thank you!!! I've had that stupid code on the screen for the last year and even Hitachi couldn't tell me how to get rid of it! I used your directions about removing the r/c flap & pressing the tuning button. You have made our day - thank you!!!!!!

Press the two remote control vcr record buttons at the same time,when menu appears go to standby,when the set is switched on again all should be ok hopefully!

    IN FACTORY SET UP MODE - C***48TN-311 DISPLAYED REMOVE R/C FLAP & PRESS TUNING BUTTON. THEN PRESS MENU BUTTON & GO TO STBY

The progressive scan
I ended up calling support for this because I did the same thing. It's an ez fix.

Remove the DVD from the drive, close the door & wait until it says no disk. Press & hold the stop button for 10 seconds. Your screen should pop back up - voila!
