Lanier 5627 ADF not working. Does not recognize paper

This copier was working perfectly. Next day someone did something in the lobby and the next time I tried to use it by feeding papers into the ADF it did not give that familiar "beep, beep, beep"? How do I check & repair the ADF.

SOURCE: hp psc 1315 paper jam

Hi,

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

SOURCE: Lexmark x4270 wont feed paper

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... It should resolve the Issue......... Good Luck..........

SOURCE: My Epson px800fw is claiming that there is an ADF

Make sure that the paper has no staple wires, punched holes or not crumpled.

Testimonial: "Thank you for the advice. The fault is hardware based as the problem occurs in copy mode - no computer involved. "

Why you continue to ask the same things? Why do you continue to put new posts? If you answer when I suggested that perhaps you have your problem solved.

We just got a Lanier 6540 Copier donated to our center. I am trying to get it to work, but we weren't given any sort of manual for it and I can't find anything on the internet. I think it is too old for...

We also just had someone donate this same type of copier to us and do have a manual. We are currently having trouble with the stapling unit running continuously. The manual is about 130 pages. I may be able to scan it to you in a few days if you'd like.

Error U20

U20 indicates the ADF cover is open, look to see if something is preventing the ADF cover from closing, like small piece of paper or something out of place.
