I also have the same problem and my player isn't even that old. I just received it at xmas and has been used only a few times. This solution worked for me! My portable player would no longer turn the dvd, "no disc error". I bought a disc cleaner at a local office supply and manually turned it with my hand about 10 times. It works now!!
Hi this is abhishek and welcome to fixya,,,,,,,,,
it normally caused by lens getting dirt,,,,first clean the lens with
soft cloth then try inserting disc i think the problem will be
solved....

show it your nearest authorised personnal, because its just some loose contact between the LCD pannel and the circuit board. Furtherly can be solved by seeing the physical condition of the set.
if you have USB PORT. JUST remove the disc from dvd unit and plug in a usb pen drive with usb port.
if you haven"t.USB PORT JUST BUY IT FROM LOCAL ELECTRONICS SHOPS AND FIT WITH YOUR DVD player.

How about cleaning using compressed air( it looks like an aerosol paint can)? Cleaning using cotton buds will only clean the outer side of lens, compressed air in can will clean the inner side of the lens. its like cleaning you computer keyboard, ( actually compressed air in can are used to clean the keyboards). A 30psi pressure of clean air is enough to wipe the dirt out of dvd lenses.
and y is it showing disc error when its not even 6 months old
