Turning on dishwasher

As I went to turn on my dishwasher, I notice that the clean button stay on. Normally I would just press the cancel button and everything goes back to normal . But this time I can't remove this clean flashing light.So this mean I can' t even start a new load of dirty dishes. Can you please help me determine whats wrong. Thank you

    Clean light keep flashing, and manual indicated drying heater has problem? Any idea how to disconnect or if heater coil defective?

If clean light is on, it usually means it ran ou of hot water before it finished the cycle and does not consider the dishes clean. To heset you must hit these buttons in this sequence. Heated dry; normal wash;heated dry; normal wash; heated dry; normal wash; (All lights should light up) hit cancel

Although the light may be a true indication of a pending problem, try this test: Find the circuit breaker and switch it off to remove power to washer for 30 minutes. Then power back up. Any changes? If light still on, then threat of trouble is real and must be fixed. Not sure what to CLEAN, though. Search for manual online...I'm sure Kenmore put that light on for a real purpose.

Dishwasher Beeping Sound
I noticed these instructions on the fixya website.


If you wish to eliminate or reduce the volume of the end of cycle beep you can do so by powering off the unit and turning back on while holding the right button "Cancel/Reset". The beep has 3 volumes levels and silent, press the right "Cancel/Reset" button to cycle through the settings. Power the unit back off to save you setting.

The CLEAN light is flashing on my Kenmore QuietGuard3 , but it won't clean anything. It starts a cycle for a few minutes, stops and starts flashing clean again. Any suggestions?
You will have to reset the dishwasher. First try and turn off the mains power and back on after a short time. If the clean light flashing starts again then you go through the hard reset procedure.

press NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons one after the other until all the lights on the board lit up (3X's). The dishwasher will enter into a cycle; Press Cancel. This should stop the flashing.
If you are supplying dishwasher from hot water inlet then make sure the inlet water temperature stays within the recommended range of 145 deg F.

I am locked out of cycle with clean light blinking green and cannot find my manual, dishwasher is about 1 year old. Is there a sequence to break this cycle? I turned off power for 60 seconds to no avail.

I have not seen this model in Australia, but normally if you hold down "Start/Stop" button for 3 to 5 seconds, that should clear the cycle.
Otherwise if you have a Clear button press that for 3-5 seconds.

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad. Hope this helps... Hi


Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

'clean' light flashes
Press the normal wash then heated dry buttons in the same sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the cancel button.It will clear any existing faults and makes the dishwasher to operate normally.

To prevent the issue from recurring, run your hot water faucet first to ensure that hot water is present in the entire supply line before starting the filling.

You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
