I love the size and performance of this sub! I checked the fuse with no apparent problem. Does the fuse ever fail without a clearly visible break ?
If the fuse has gone you would get no power at all. Subwoofers are basiacally mono amps that only put out bass tones. So when you get no sound the likely cause is the semiconductor that does most of the work that amplifies the signal. It could be an IC amp or FET or a Transistor, it could have an heatsink on it. But I would look to that for the cause of your problem.

This problem can also be caused by bad caps. This seems to be a real problem with this unit but considering the age I would replace the caps.

you may have a groung problem in the wireing of your home, buy a 110 ground tester at home depo and check your home wireing
